To be fair, this time the city of Oakland is telling them they're number one. The city won't let anyone build out there. Baseball or football. Until then they both suffer and Oakland will lose both teams. It's sad really.

 

Take that money and pay it out to make a stadium and who's going to want to play on the team for next to nothing compared to other teams salaries?

I mean I'm a season ticket holder, and trust me I want them to stay in Oakland.

All the talks have been a joke, I think they should start a damn kickstarter or some shit, or something to where people can pitch in. I'd pitch in my whole next paycheck for it.

 

Jerry Brown fucked everything up when he was mayor. Oakland had the money (at the time) and the supporters to get a new stadium built. But he can care less about sport and rejected every proposal that came across his desk. Now that we have a mayor the actually wants the team to stay supposedly there is no money.

 

That stadium was built in the 60's. It wasn't just the city of Oakland it was also alameda county which own half the stadium.

 

Not really a huge sports fan as it is, unless I'm rooting for the team opposing a friends team, but I agree on the above statement, let them pay for their own stadium. The amount of money these guys get paid to play is effing ridiculous. How about this, you get paid a small amount (like 5% or something of your contract) and when you win the superbowl, you get the full amount. Not-Here's millions of dollars, that's too bad you lost every game, maybe next time. Guess I'm on the side of - Give that money to the people that need/earn it (Military, Police, Medical, etc).

Ok rant over. I'll go back to my hole.

 

Also, that's not just Raiders I'm talking about, I mean in general of sports.

 

Most teams can afford to build their own stadiums. Don't get sucked into the "we're too poor" argument...or the "it'll bring jobs". Trust me, none of that is as true as they'd have you believe.

 

Damn Amazon, put an item in my cart and waited a day or two to decide on buying it and now it's $150 more. I don't understand these crazy rapid price fluctuations...

Yeah, well, unions are a pretty outdated idea these days for the most part. They do still help a bit, but from my experience they protect everyone, including the people with the attitides that don't actually do anything from being fired. Case in point, during our strike a guy was caught redhanded with a company radio threatening a managers life while he was on the picket line. They have him on audio and video doing it. And hes apparently not the best liked guy already. The union apparently got him his job back. I highly doubt the company will let him stay for very long before finding something valid to let him go for

 

The LA Rams are funding the most expensive stadium in NFL history without taxpayer dollars...just sayin #LAftw
