I spent the last two weekends prepping and painting an overly complicated toddler tower for the kitchen. Not how I envisioned that going down.

Yeah, it's not for everyone. It works well on a larger scale though. Dublin/ San Ramon has been using reclaimed water for the last 10 - 15 years. The landscapes still look purty. We have to take soil samples on every project. The renovation projects, where plants have been watered with reclaimed water, don't have a SAR & salinity significantly higher than other areas. Maybe Cache Creek has a shitty (pun intended) water treatment facility.

For grey water, on a homeowner level, the ROI isn't there. Water is cheap. It's more about sustainability and self sufficiency. People who care about that aren't using harsh chemicals.

As systems develop, the technology will get better and the "wasteland" concerns will be addressed. For example, 8 out of 10 houses caught on fire when solar panels were first installed.* And 34% of California's native migratory birds were chopped up in the blades of older wind farms.** Technology helped to work around these issues and California is now a leader in clean energy. If we gave up on these sources of energy, there's no way we could power all the 70" flatscreen TV's or charge our Teslas.

    *That statistic was fake.
**I hope you didn't believe that one.

No, he can stand in it (safely) to help us at the counter, and you can adjust the standing platform down as he grows. He loves being in the kitchen, and goes apeshit if he cant' see what we're doing. They also call them learning towers.

Here's the basic idea. Note that this version is not adjustable.

Its true though. A new tehcnology comes out (reclaimed water and such) nay sayers find a problem with it, its gets pushed down and out, people fix the issues and then try to use it and everyone is still so hung up on the original issues they can't see the end goal of a good product/service

Hmmm, I just give my kid power tools and show him how to plug them in, he'll either learn how to use them, or learn how not to use them.

I was putting him up on a spare dining chair with the back to the room, but he just gets so excited and reaching and not watching his feet, So I had to stand there the whole time do he didn't step off and faceplant on the kitchen floor.

This is what I'm using for my 12 year old Chesapeake. It's only been a week, so no results to present at this time.
