I also think this way, but have made no move in either direction. The small trailer then becomes an added hindrance when getting into tight off road situations. Everything is a compromise.

This is very true, I figured if i'm going some place the trailer would be a pain in the ass. I will mount the RTT to the truck. When I will be at a place that is easier to access with a trailer I will take it.
    I like having options. :D

poor girl drove a 02 Hyundai SantaFe for 10 years and it was on life support. Basically was lucky to have a horn for options. Shes through the moon with the new one. Never seen her smile so much and we just got married...

    Check out the build
    Get a camper dudes!!

In all seriousness this is where the hard shell RTTs really shine like the one @ChandlerDOOM is selling. Not as big but you can take it down in no time and keep your bedding inside, and still EAF.

Everything we do is a compromise and they change based on everyone's needs.

That's awesome to hear. My wife got a mini upgrade when my MIL gave back her 04 Lexus RX330, but she gets the next new car. Love the ride of the Lexus, but too damn small with all of the kids stuff. Either a van or Highlander is next.

Haha, from one minivan to the next. Should just swap wheels/tires and no one will know the difference...

I drove a Sienna in Hawaii for a week, I liked it, but the wife is hesitant about driving a big vehicle.

So if I'm up a Canyon somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the Sierra, is this going to do me any good? I understand I need a HAM license to operate it.

If you are with buddies with the same band radio, yes. But if you are ridgetop you may be able to hit a local repeater. Easier in the desert /near town though.

Yeah, I should clarify. If I were solo up a canyon. OK, that what I thought. Climb and hope for a signal.
