Here's the wage sheets for 1st year apprentices from the program we use for those interested unsure how these compare to union wages. Additional benefits like vacation etc are determined by company

So being a local 6 member, my work is only in san francisco. Most construction, atleast down here, u work u get paid. No vacation pay per say, although here in local 6, they take a 12%after tax and put in an account, your vacation account. As far as company cars/trucks, a lot of foreman get them, along with a gas card. Im currently a foreman, make $74/hour,but no truck, which is really fine by me, i take a 15 minute bart ride in. I agree about the good and bad for both union and non, but, down here we pretty much do it all in "the city".

 

I wonder if i could assess into something other than a first year apprentice given my applicable experience.

I'm pretty good with DC. I know everything other than cars is AC, but most the theory transfers as far as i know.
I know how to handle my tool. I mean I'm good with tools.
My dads a painting contractor and i used to work summers with him when i was a kid. So I'm decent at making wall repairs.

Relaxing day/ start of the evening our anniversary. Got a lake view room at Edgewood. Complimentary champagne when we checked in, and they brought us a bottle on ice as a gift. Not complaining.

 

Be hard as most of your work as a first year is gonna be running conduit and other more labor intensive things like wire pull.
