Is the law still in effect from the 49er period, if you catch another person with your gold you can legally shot/kill him.

Smoke detectors. Is there any reason that when they need new batteries they have to inform you of this at 3:30 AM? And, if you have 5 in the house, why is it impossible to tell which one is chirping? And, after replacing the batteries in all of them, why is there still a chirp? And, if you then go to the hardware store and buy a contractor pack of new ones and replace them all, why does it turn out to have been the carbon monoxide detector all along?

    Asking for a friend.

I'll tell him to bust out the silencer tool next time.

Been there. Carbon monoxide went off at 10:30 right as I was heading to bed. Scared the crap out of me and stressed me out trying to figure out the issue/if anything was wrong.

Wait until you go to buy a new one. What was $20 is now $50 and no battery to change...go figure.

Oh yeah. Fancy CO detector with a supposed 10-year battery and a temperature readout.

Anyone doing any camping tomorrow? Thinking of camping around Slick Rock but it may be snowing. Maybe Bowman, maybe Mendocino, maybe Lost Coast?

I'd be careful given the forecast for the Sierra. Also, Lost Coast may not be easily accessible in the rain.
