Since we're on the subject... Any ideas how to go about recovering files from a drive that was in a RAID 1 array? Shows up as unallocated

Do you have all the members of the group and are they in the same positions of the controller?

My recommendation is to call the mfg directly. If you run anything that might write the disk, you could be screwed.

 

Was looking at that until I read:

Yeah, I no longer have the enclosure the drives were in, so I figure its probably fucked. Long time ago I was one of those schmucks that thought RAID 1 was a backup solution, I learned that lesson after loosing pretty much all my digital photos of +2 years one xmas.

 

I feel even more dumb than usual.
Gonna go jerk off in hopes this nerd talk will be done by the time i get back.
