I have been hit 2x in Petaluma and Novato. Both times saved damage to the bikes but my right foot still has broken bone chunks floating in my foot after my last hit in September, and I have been riding my whole life. Ride safe, our roads suck and cell phones and texters and all the illegals are just waiting to kill us on bikes.

That looks like it used to be a nice ZX7R tho...

Check my build thread...too much to list.
Almost bought a bike last year after my deployment. After being back in Cali for a while I decided it was better not to ride. People just don't know how to drive out here or anywhere for that matter.

Been on my bike for a few years now and no accidents yet! Knocking on wood right now.... Many close calls and a lot of screaming at stupid people in cars though. My brother has had two accidents on his bike. First one he broke his foot trying to do wheelies down in El Dorado Hills on some empty road. That shit was hilarious. Second time he was riding down east bidwell and some car "cut him off so he had to lay it down to avoid the car".... He really should learn how to ride.

My knee still goes out every once in a while from that time I was side swiped. Stupid me tried to save the bike from going down while fishtailing and popped my knee out. I saved the bike though! :D

There isn't really a good reason to lay the bike down and you're right, he should learn to ride it.

I've been hit twice. Once head on by a drunk and once by some woman making a left turn-she was priceless. First words out of her mouth were "I'm a biker too"-no kidding? Hang up your f'ing phone and drive then.
First time, totaled the bike. Second time, did about $4k worth of damage. Both times, I walked away. I have been very lucky.

that it is, this will be on mt roads most of the time, i dont like to ride on the street that much.

i eat squids but i dont hand with them

i don't like doing stunts, i don't usually go over 85 just because of the felony speeding charges

first of all i will never do a wheelie, second of all why was he riding so slow a car can pass him? you should always ride faster than all traffic.

no bike is worth my knee

    damn

    Yikes :O

That was his excuse for locking up the brakes and not knowing how to fix it.

Only been riding about a month or two now and no crashes yet, but damn all these stories definitely show how dangerous it is.

Yes. More often that not, it seems like not knowing how to use the brakes leads to drama. If the front locks, let go. If the rear locks, keep it locked until you stop. The good news is the front brake has about 70% of the stopping power for the motorcycle. Which means the rear still has about 30%. And that means if you need to stop in a hurry, use both brakes.

If you're new to riding or don't ride much, take an MSF course. You'll learn how to safely operate the bike and if you don't have a license already, passing the class waives the road test and is sometimes good for an insurance discount.

Blank canvas but ready, stock for not much longer...
Been down a few times, but hit 3 times.

Great to see the 7R, long time owner of my 96. The bike has enjoyed a cult following especially over in the UK. About to sell her since I get no seat time thanks to a new Ducati and she is too heavy for the track.

Don't get me wrong, I miss my bikes. If it wasn't for the kids, I'd still have one, especially up here in Tahoe.
The problem is you can be the best rider in the world...but it doesn't help you when the worst drivers in the world are all over the place. Nobody looks out for you except you when you're on two wheels.
