Just got back from Maui and not only is every other vehicle there a badass tacoma, half of them have SCS wheels. Never owned a set myself, but I can see why people get them.

    Cute.
Seriously, they're pretty wheels. But are they made for the abuse of off road. O are they for Mall Crawling. This is my first off road rig and I don't have the money to guess. I've already made a few blunders so forgive my naivety. I've been to the shop, talked with Vin (awesome dude), and a second time there, I talked with a relative, and got the impression they were street wheels. By the way, they are probably in their new Livermore warehouse by now.

I love my steel wheels. Cheap and solid. Hold up great to my style of driving. Bent one on that snow run when i hit a bolder that was hiding under the snow. Nothing a hammer couldnt fix.

They look great, but are built for this stuff.

Ed Robinson's for scuba - they are awesome. I would avoid swimming too far from shore in south maui - too many shark attacks in recent years.

He is still in Oakland and his rims take a beating. I have 8 of his stealth 6s and they are all scratched up and have gashes but hold air just fine. I just got 5 more sr8s for the wifes rig.

Do you dive Monterey much? I'm a DM as well. Although, I took a year off which turned into 2 years off. Also I collapsed a lung in April and still need to find out if I can continue to dive. I broke 6 ribs, my sternum, collarbone and finger, along with a bunch of other injuries at the same time so I'm in no rush to do anything.

There's a shark diving boat that goes out to the Farallon Islands in the fall. I did a bunch of trips out there a couple years ago. Visability in the water sucks so sightings aren't as common as if you go to South Afica or Mexico. We did get to see a Great White attacking a seal on the surface though. I was working so I got paid to go. Otherwise it's like $900....not sure if that's worth it. The ones in Mexico are multiple days and you will see sharks for sure. I think that one is like $3,000something. https://solmarv.com/destinations-gu...MI7pHg5Ibl2wIVg_5kCh2PKgINEAAYAiAAEgLUQvD_BwE

Hey I’m glad you’re doing better.

Are you going to share what happened? Did you get hit on your motorcycle? No need to if you don’t want, I’m just curious.

    Oh yeah....

I was on 880 North in Oakland in the left lane (lane #1). There were two cars in the right two lanes (lanes #3 & 4). The car in lane 3 cut off the car in lane 4. Lane 4 swerved onto the shoulder to avoid getting hit. When he re-entered the roadway he turned left too hard and lost control. He went across all 4 lanes and hit me at a 90 degree angle. It looks like he hit the front part of my bike just in front of my right leg. The police report estimates I was going 50mpg. I flew appoximately 50 feet and slid after that. According to the police report and the medical records I was non-responsive at the scene. However, I was combative and using inappropriate language in the ER and had to be restrained. I was still restrained when I woke up the following day. I vaguely remember that part.

One thing I'm super glad I did was Google Location Sharing. I was going to visit a friend in Oakland and used the Google location sharing with him since I can't text from the bike. When I was overdue he texted me asking where I was. A few minutes later he asked what I was doing at the hospital. shortly after that he texted that he was coming to the hospital.

Luckily I was wearing a full aerostitch suit and had zero road rash. The suit got cut off and the helmet is trashed. The back of the helmet has these aerodynamic things that are mostly sanded off. My motorcycle had to be removed from the front of the car. The bike still runs, but needs a new radiator, oil cooler, water pump, radiator hose, turn signal and some plastics.

I'm mosty recovered. My wrists still hurt from spraining them. Sneezing and deep breaths still hurt and I still feel the effects of the head injury. I'm also super weak. I think I lost about 20 pounds of muscle. I know I was 175 pounds before. After 10 days in the hospital I was 155 pounds. Now I'm at 160 pounds.
