Dealerships are bad, but in my experience most those used car only places are shady as fuck except for maybe carmax.

Check out the reviews for the Toyota dealership in Santa Cruz, I mean I could understand a couple bad reviews, but seriously. If I were going to buy new I wouldn't go there, no fing way.

Yeah, She got thoroughly screwed. Its not even a prerunner. Its a base model. $18K would have been reasonable for a 4x4 with those miles, but for a Base model SR5 2WD not even prerunner, its WAYYYY too much. Can build that Truck brand new on toyota right now for 24K MSRP. Assuming she didnt get lied to about the engine as well. if its a 4cyl even less.

And its funny how these places tout all these awards. Most those awards are for high sales numbers or high service numbers. not good customer service.

Damn, I've never actually looked at the reviews, but people are not happy with Toyota SC. I don't blame them though. I've seen how some of the salesman treat people and try to manipulate them. I went in looking at a 1999 4runner and it was like talking to a brick wall. The guy had no clue about it and couldn't answer a single question I asked. It sucks because Charlie Canfield (who owns it) is dating my Fiance's mom.

Can anybody suggest a good shop to get a lift installed in the Marin/Sonoma area? I've been working with McLeas in Cotati but am kind of getting the run around from them. Ideally I'd like to buy a Toytec lift myself and just have somebody install it. Thanks in advance!

Its good. I love it. but the humidity and heat/rain is not fun for moving in unloading boxes and such.
There was a fire we passed in Wyoming, but that's all I've seen so far. Ive been inside a lot unpacking and setting up the internet and TV services and all that crap so far.

Colorado is so beautiful. I love it there. I missed going out there this year because of the fires, my little nephews came here because of the evacuations. The air is thinner there too so you might get winded at first when you work out, so don't let that worry you. It took me about five days for me to get used to it. When things are settled don't forget to post pics for us.

Wow, you should merry that girl just in case the mom get's hooked up on the sponsorship lol.

I've had SC Toyota do a few things on my truck and they were 'ok.' But, for instance, I had them do a diagnostic because the tranny was doing this acceleration/deceleration thing. So, I make an appointment and the technician goes for a ride with me. During the ride, it barely shows up but I tell him it happens a lot, esp on declines like coming off 17, and that it was posted online that a lot of others had it too. He's like,'Ya man I am sure it happens, I will make some notes on it...blah blah." Then the manager comes out and says that I am good to go and read the tech's report 'customer days there is a trannie issue, went for test drive, didn't feel any problems at all.' Fing guy just stroked me to act like he gave 2 shts but obviously didn't. A few months later a national TSB was issued for the exact problem. Went back to get it done and they all acted like they didn't remember I had complained about it earlier (even made a comment that I was lucky the truck was still under warranty - pricks). I think that kind of sht is sleezy and I don't really understand how so many people can all get on board to act like douche bags. Other than that, they've been ok...but I still wouldn't buy a car from them. Lots of choices around the bay just a short drive away, and some with very good detailed reviews with few complaints. If I am buying new, I'd buy at one of those places just on principle.

Ya, all Toyota sees is their 'numbers' of serviced, etc. They are lucky the same people aren't working in a real depressed area, they'd be f'd.

Haha, I plan to, but we'll see what her mom does. He's not very involved in the dealership though. He is President of the Seaside Company, so in a sense he owns it, but it's not his main focus. Not sure what kind of pricing he can get on parts though.
