Nah. Just reducing the weight by getting rid of stuff I don’t use. Must be working because I wound up seriously oversprung in the front. Those coilovers are going on the truck Sunday.

just got my hands on this the other day :) customer here at the shop brought it by for a part out and said the rest is mine. going to be turning the bed into our camp/adventure trailer. cutting the frame just under the firewall to build the tongue, swapping wheels/tires after i find a set. as far as axle, going to leave it with what it has and throw a dummy 3rd member in it to hold the axle shafts (at least until i get a trailer axle or something). has fuel tank, working lights and no holes in the panels, just minor rust spots. any of you ever done something along these lines? any suggestions on wheel/tire setup and size or suggestions on suspension and axle? also open to ideas on what to do to it

    That’s pretty sweet.

Just be aware that Toyota pickups don’t make very good trailers. Something about where the axle is. My dad made one and he never uses it because of how bad it tows... and he’s made a handful of trailers.

Just make sure it’s got a long tongue and I’m sure it’ll be fine.

I’d save if it were mine. I stick a small diesel in it and finally take advantage of my endless supply of used fryer oil.

I like my viair. It’s a little bigger than the 88p but well made.

I also have the red Chinese made one that everyone sells that has been super reliable for me. I though I ruined it when I cross threaded the hose connector so I bought the viair but my dad rethreaded it and it’s still pumping away.

I carry a 88P in my truck at all times. I also often carry a 12V 20AH AGM batttery that I normally use for powering astronomy gear, and will use it to power the viaair instead of trying to reach from the vehicle batteries back to the trailer axles.

my *only* minor complaint about the viair is its integral pressure gauge. when you hook it up to the tire, you get an accurate reading, but when you turn the compressor on, it reads 5-8 PSI higher than the actual tire pressure, and even when you shut it off, this higher pressure stays... so I pump the tires til it reads about 10 PSI higher than I want them, then bleed them down using my handheld tire gauge to the correct pressure...

Not enough to have a build thread.
I've used the hell out of my 88p with disregard for its duty cycle. Love it. Not the fastest, but gets the job done
