Ok... So cleaned up all the Christmas totes. Not ideal, but I can fit the truck in the garage again.

Now to start getting in to the pile of shit I need to do to the truck.

Carpool is totally overloaded. I’ve never been convinced they work.
I do the same thing on the bike. I’m like see you later suckers! Plus my bike was $4100...that’s way more cost effective than a Tesla.
    GTFO and go to MazdaWorld.com!

Just kidding. I’ve kinda natually switched to that hand position. I don’t have any comfort issues with driving long distance but that just seems to work well.

With all the expiring stickers, maybe things will quiet down a bit?

Honestly I'm not convinced the stickers are the problem. Anytime I've been in rush-hour traffic next to the carpool lane it's easy to see at least 1/4 of the cars are just one shitbag using it. Its at least that bad on 880

Well, by definition, every sticker is a one person car  There are also a lot of folks who believe the possession of a Nissan Leaf or Tesla is all you need for admission too.

There have been some Caltran surveys indicating that as many as 1 in 4 carpool lane occupants are solo drivers who shouldn’t be there.

I go from Campbell to Fremont at 5am. It would seem that most the cars in the carpool lane don’t belong. It’s not as important because the speed of traffic at that time is usually around 80mph which another issue. I’ve never seen a cop in my on that route in 3.5 years doing that commute. I see cars doing 100mph on an almost regular basis which is a bit crazy.

On 50 east, I'd say it's about one in six. What makes no sense to me is that children count as occupants in the HOV lane. I thought the whole point of carpooling was to take cars off the road.

Ok so, after multiple attempts I'm at a standstill. I cut out the LCA cam up front that was seized, now I'm stuck with the shaft for the bolt stuck in the uniball, it's got just a sliver poking out and I can hammer it a bunch of times to move either way but its good and stuck in there. I tried putting in my 12 ton press but the uniball just wanted to roll which could have caused some damage to me or something. I dunno how to get that MFer out now. I guess just find a bolt of the same size and start hammering?

I bring the child thing up all the time when people question why motorcycles are allowed in the carpool lane.

What type of penetrating oil have you tried yet?

    Try the ol atf trick.

Edit - I still can’t load the pics. My new router is being a fickle bitch.

I just threw some Kroil on it, hoping that helps. Seems like the metal might have expanded a bunch or something, It seems pretty wedged in there.

    whats the ol atf trick?

Not enough to have a build thread.
Soak it in PB Blaster or some penetrating oil. Find something the same diameter or slightly smaller and beat her out. That would be my guess.

It’s an old timer trick we would use in the engine rooms of big ships that move slow. Mix atf 50/50 with acetone. It works better than any other penetrating oil I’ve ever used.

No idea if it works for uniballs, but I used the bottle jack and torch method to pop out old oem bushings on my LCAs. Then I replaced them with poly bushings.

Yeah problem is the Uniball starts to roll instead of pressing the shaft stuck in it out. I put it in my press and the uniball started rolling so I took pressure off it before it got violent.

Can you heat up the whole thing and then spray some of that cold freeze or air in can on inside piece? Maybe that will change the shape enough?

Also is the whole LCa steel? There is a trick with washing soda water and battery charger you can use to remove rust from stuff. Maybe you could get the rust that is binding the piece to come off. You need a sacrificial piece of steel and the charger is on anode and pull rust off your cathode or vice versa. You can make washing soda by dehydrating baking soda in oven. PM me if you can’t find it online but I’ve used it to clean rust off stuff and it works great.
