Friend is trying to get me into road bikes for New Years because he’s tired of my “get old and die” mentality. Does schwinn make decent entry level bikes? Was looking at the Fastback carbon. Looked at Cannondale but the one I like is only in stock 2500 miles away. Idk something around $1500 could be a start.

Get old and die? Tell him to man up and get an S1000RR.:thumbsup:

By the way, Giant makes some great bicycles. Best thing to do is go to local bike store and try before you buy. Mike's Bikes is a pretty good store as are Performance and Summit.

He’s had quite a few actually. He’ll get another eventually. I think for now he’s tired of getting knocked off his bikes. He’s had a ZX6R, Ducati monster, Gixxers, whatever else.

Oh yea. Definitely going to try before dumping so much into a bicycle. Would love to buy from Amazon though. I have a few hundred in rewards points sitting there...because I’m retarded and don’t use it.

Edit - or I can use those points on a GoPro which would inevitably be needed

don't buy a bike from Amazon.... by from a local shop. Demo the bikes you might want to buy and the $ goes towards a purchase... look for the end of year models and you'll save big $$. The bike shop you buy it from will have it assembled, fitted to you, and warranty the parts/work for at least a year. some shops will even give you free tune ups for the life of the bike. All this means you'll end up paying more for the bike on amazon than buying local, you'll have better service and you'll be supporting local business.

I’ve not had good luck when it comes to customer service. Never shopped for a bike before but ANYTHING automotive related some asshat is always trying to rip me off based off the assumption that I wouldn’t know better.

If you buy from a reputable shop, they'll help you get the right sized bike and get it fit for you. When you have questions down the road, they'll be there for you. Amazon won't. Amazon also cannot assemble your bike correctly-so unless you're experienced, Amazon isn't the way to buy.
