Nice! I smoked some pork butt the other day. I only finished it in the smoker though.
What’s this thing on your grill?

Half a broken pizza stone. The other half is on my gas grill...

    Poor mans griddle :D

Also kind of acts as a heat deflector thing.

I also added a couple of bricks as heat sinks. Works better than a bowl of water IMO.

    Nice, good ideas!

I've been thinking about building a griddle. I have access to a welder, just need to find a slab of steel for cheap. A man hole cover would be fantastic but I'm not sure where to get one legally. Also, it might be too thick and take forever to heat up.

Hey guys just ordered a new set of leaf springs to replace my sagging AAL. Isn’t there a member that installs for a fee on here? I installed the AAL with some help (and tools, don’t have my own) but the brake lines and possible shims have me a bit nervous.

You've got leaf packs... What kind of leaf packs? Do you have U-bolts? Are your leafs going to give additional lift over the AAL?

Yes sorry leaf springs isn’t the best term. I got the 4+1s from this link, I’ll be adding some weight plus run a RTT and rack.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/heavy-duty-leaf-packs-for-your-heavy-truck.547497/

I was hoping to use the U-Bolts that came with the AAL as it’s only been on around 6 months so they shouldn’t be corroded. Leafs will likely give me around 2” more than the AAL (icon 3 leaf) as my AAL sagged a bit and is only giving me around 1”

I wouldn't be concerned with corrosion of the U-bolts. I would be looking at if the new leaf pack is thicker, overall, than the current leaf pack + AAL causing the U-bolts to not be lo g enough.

(Also, side note, U-bolts are typically recommended to be replaced, not re-used, but I think in this case we'd just be wanting to nake sure they are long enough)

That leaf pack also appears to give a fair amount of lift. Even if you have weight that will counteract the lift (make it not lift so hi) you will be getting additional down travel from that lift. I would recommend rear brake lines to go with them, and what amount of lift are your shocks rated for? That leaf pack may over (down) travel your shocks if they aren't long enough.

I’ll see if the member can measure the leaf pack and I’ll crawl under to measure my current leaf pack +AAL no problem

I’m getting some brake lines for sure to cover the added travel. I’m on 5125s from wheelers currently and think they’ll cover the down travel from the new leafs. Here’s a spec on them.

Good, you're on the right track.

    New brake lines ✔
    5125s should be fine ✔
(Looks like you already upgraded rear shocks. Just wanted to make sure. Sometimes people think they can run stock with AAL, and with what the leafs appear to lift, that wouldn't work... for very long)

All good man!! I appreciate the help! I’ve read up on things and done some stuff on rigs so I’m not a complete beginner but still have a ton to learn!
    To summarize:
I’ll make sure the U-Bolts are long enough, if not I’ll order new ones
    Getting brake lines
Sticking with my 5125s, possibly upgrade to B110s in the future

Think I’m cool? Thanks for all the help man!! I’ll hit you up once I get the stuff in! You da man!

Yep... What you're looking at doing is a workable plan. Just hit me up when you're ready and we'll knock it out.

Hopefully @essjay will have his front shocks around the same time, and we can fix him up too.
