Have you tried the Green Mountain brand yet. The price is crazy cheap, im not expecting great things but a guy at work says there great. $15 for 30lb bag at sportsman's. the treager brand at Costco 33lbs for 24 i think. or 18.99 at ace for 20lbs so pretty close to the brands you mentioned. will check Amazon for those or lowes if im ever in westsac.

Haven't tried Geen Mountain yet. I haven't heard much about them. I grew up with the Traegers (family friends)... it was always a brag about how cheap their pellets were to make and what they made off of them. It kept me from using their pellets unless I was completely out of the others.

I do always have a bag on standby incase I run out of the other brands, but I can always tell when they are in the hopper.

Side note, do not leave the hopper/burner full when it is wet outside, especially with the traeger pellets. They'll expand and REALLY damage things. I have had to do surgery to mine twice over the past 6 years.

I have never had that issue. mine is always outside full. i do keep the cover on it and under the porch so never in direct rain inless its blowing sideways.

I was gone for a month and it rained on the wife... she didn't bring it inside. All the pellets in the tube swelled. I got back and wanted to make something... ended up working on it for 3 hours to get everything out of it.

Traeger is a pellet smoker than you can use as a grill (gets over 500f) and the egg is a charcoal grill.

Got out early as the sun was coming up, beautiful layer on the water, fish jumping, birds singing. Got the kayak down, tackle loaded, rods on and secured, hooks and lures set, cooler, food, water, got ready to go on the water and realized I forgot the paddle.:annoyed:made the best of the day though, spilt half my redbull, lost 5 lures, caught some abandoned line so I gained a hook, swivel and 2 weights then lost a small fish, hooked a solid 4 or so lb bass got it to shore and the 6lb line snapped, then one of my last casts landed a nice 2 lb smally and so IScreenshot_20190522-211638.jpg made bass for lunch. Kayak fishing is so much better than shore fishing. Even when you have a bad day.
