I'm positive they'll say it's wear related. There's no piping.

It's the seam between the bolster and seat (I think that's the right term).

One of the other reasons I'm not terribly happy with them is they attract dog hair. Vacuuming doesn't really work-you have to go at it with a roller or something else. IDK. They look great and their water resistance are things I like but their durability? Eh.

If it's just you, no dogs, then go for it. They look great and the fit is good.

I've had mine for over 5 years now, but I do a lot with my truck. A lot of outdoor activity so they get wet a lot. I can imagine that a lot of wet/dry activity gets them worn out faster. They're definitely worth the penny, especially if you do a lot, and if you don't, then expect them to last a lot longer.

I've got two dogs over 150 lbs and one that's 60 lbs. When I take a dog out, it will only be one at a time and they go in the back seat of the SUV. That's what started the whole towel on the seats thing. But cat and dog hairs do get on my clothes and sometimes get into the truck.

My truck is only a daily driver so far so hopefully they will last. The ones in Chris' truck are holding up so far, not sure how long he's had them. He also bought them second hand. He uses his truck for his landscaping business and he has his workers going in and out of the truck.

I don't think his get wet though.

    Thanks for the input, guys.

I *have noticed the dog hair really loves to stick in the WO's; the seat covers' texture plus his short straight fur apparently mesh well. Haha. The covers have saved the seats from mud, sand, and a coffee incident so far.

Also: if it's just a ripping seam I bet Narain's in Berkeley would fix it. She has heavy-duty sewing machines and has repaired wetsuits, seatbelts, saddlebags, backpacks, etc. for me and my friends w good results and has fair pricing.

I've asked it before but only got one answer. How annoyingly hot do these seats get during summer? I picture them burning my ass the whole ride home after a lake or river trip.

Welding 150 with Oswald. It's the MIG and Stick welding with some oxy acetylene. I tried to get into the TIG class, but it was full.

From the site the WO's are not supposed to be as hot or cold as leather can get.

The worst I've gotten are red marks from the vinyl in the Chevelle. I will never again drive that car on a hot day with short shorts on. :(

Yeah, that's why I like the stock seats. That mesh stuff never gets uncomfortably hot.

Awww how hot does it get in Sacto??

We had triple digit temps for a week probably a month or so ago. The second weekend of August I was working outdoors for 12 hours and it got up to 110.

I think the record here was when it was between 110-115 for 15 days straight. After that year I got my air conditioning unit upgraded.

But I heard the seats get dirty easily and are hard to clean. Even plain water stains them?

    It can get up there

Really easy. All I ever do is wipe them down with a warm wash cloth. If they are really dirty I use warm soapy water.

Are you talking about the stock seats or the WOs?
