When I first got with she-who-must-not-be-named she took me for a spin in her 91 carolla wagon. She likes to take turns at high speeds... I asked what the loud banging was under the hood and she had no idea but that it had been doing it for a month or so. Next day I take a look and the battery is leaning on the engine, no tie downs.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Jen's work is now ZERO days accident free.

It's cleaned up now... but just so you know. You should hold a 9/16s box wrench in your hand... NOT with the open end IN the palm of your hand.

Just so if anyone is unclear of that proceedure.

    Haha.
I had a Suzuki samurai in high school where the battery tie down rusted out. I hit a bump and the battery jumped and grounded out on the hood...

Left a couple of burn holes in the hood and only burned the main fuse luckily. And the stereo fuse.

Fuck man. That is the best example of an "action that should result in a thorough ass kicking" that I've heard in a long time. I hope something came back that person's way either directly at the beach or via random karma down the line.

My question isn't about the being stupid with the open end of the wrench, but wearing a ring while wrenching? Sorry, too many horror stories and pictures (plus a few in real life) of people wearing their ring while wrenching.

She wasn't being stupid. She knows how to wrench. She works on pool equipment and the bolts were (are still lol) fused on with rust and corrosion. It was one of those typical, do what you gotta do to loosen it up things we all do, and it went sideways... actually, literally the wrench went sideways.

With as thin as the band is on her ring, and being gold, it would very likely break before doing damage to her finger. (Although I know what you're saying. I've gotten to the point I just always wear a silicone ring now)

I wasn't meaning she was being stupid. Just one of those "teachable" moments as they are called. I have done my share of damage to my hands wrenching on planes. Bloodied knuckles, cut finger tips, shocks that knocked me out. I understand how bad rust can get. I tend not to use combination wrenches anymore unless I have to.

Thanks man, been a long time coming. Stoked it’s finally coming together

Furniture is expensive. All I brought was what I could fit in my car when I shipped it, which turned out to be tools and kitchen supplies. Still have a little moving money leftover but I’ll probably have to dip into my mod money
