It boggles the mind at the ineptness of the DMV. It's like the place where people who barely pass the test go to work.

Customers waiting in line? No problem. Lunchtime!

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

They are absolutely incapable of finding a solution other than "You'll have to come back."

Then they bitch because people are grumpy when they have to go there... and they bitch because they are "overworked."

They are "overworked" and people are grumpy because THEY make people have to make 2 and 3 trips, to do shit that should be able to be done in one visit.

I tried to get a Real ID... They wouldn't take an absentee ballot OR a valid Hunting License as a 2nd proof of address. I havn't tried again. I have a passport.

    Still f'n pissed over that.

Both the Walnut Creek and the Concord DMVs started closing their doors early since they're so "overworked". Not really sure how they're more overworked now verses before.

Shit, they want to see over worked, I'll let them follow me for a day. I'm PMing 3 jobs at the airport right now and finishing up a highrise in Oakland.

personally dont consider Vacaville as the bay area but some do. Doesnt disregard the business and ineptness of the DMV though.

So... A lady that is helping here from Merced (we're in Mariposa) told this office an expired permit (due to Covid) is not a reason Robert can't take the test (apperantly she has more rank than the rest of them here).

She is honestly trying to help more than any other DMV employee I've ever delt with. I want give her credit.

But now, the Mariposa DMV employees are saying we have to wait... and if someone else does not show up for their appointment, Robert can take his test (even though he had an appointment 12:00 which we showed up 15 minutes early for).

The funniest part is... we've been here since 11:45... there have been exactly ZERO behind the wheel tests given... and there are currently more DMV employees here than people waiting to be served.

I guess we'll know when they close at 5:00 if we need to re-schedule.

    I shit you not.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
As an employee of one part of government, I am sorry for the ineptitude of the government employees of another agency. Just remember, (please don't ban me) Unions can be extremely bad in one aspect (government, teaching, etc...) but helpful in another.

They have the power. That is a huge problem with them.

I was registering my trailer and had to go to the VIN verifier who, just as I arrived, went to lunch. Just to make sure I understood, when she got back, she looked through the paperwork for the waiting appointments for 15 minutes.

my cousin bought a new race car trailer and went to register it and after 4 hour wait he was told CHP now has to verify tandem axle trailers and DMV cannot. So he had to call to schedule an appt with CHP 3 months out

So... Robert ended up getting to take the test. You could tell the dude that was administering wasn't happy about administering the test.

Robert failed, because he couldn't hear the dude tell him to turn left off of Highway 49 until he was right up on the turn... he "didn't use the center turning lane properly."

Any guesses why Robert may not have been able to hear him? He was wearing this shit during the test.

Maybe the test administrator will go home wondering why he was wearing a full face mask
