    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Ended up spending most of the day finalizing trip prep/plans.

Let the RTT air out over night and did the RTT laundry yesterday. Put the bags and sheets back in and folded er up nice and tidy.

Checked off all the tools, spare parts, recovery gear, camp gear... and repacked it all in the various homes, truck boxes, totes, and ammo boxes.

Had to make a trip to Home Depot because I couldn't find the fucking 12mm ratcheting box wrench that belongs in the truck... bought 2 because you can never have too many 10mm or 12mm (bought a 10mm socket, just because fuck it, I'll lose one someday)

Jen got about this far on the kitchen stuff... and passed out
    20200802_183707.jpg

Finalized Hotel accommodations... we'll be staying in a Hotel the 1st night, middle night, and last night of the trip. Just so we can get showers and have a bit of relaxing.
    Screenshot_20200802-194358_Bookingcom.jpg

Cleaned out the truck, checked expiration dates on the med kits etc.

I think we're actually a bit ahead of schedule on this.

Now Jen is asleep and I'm looking at fridges... I think the only thing that's going to keep me out of trouble is most of the lead times will put one here too late.

My wife has the same problem in her Chevy. They stick, but every once in a while one will fall on your head for no reason

Need to figure my shit out. Still at the whole one ton/80 series/keep it as is debate. Naturally, keeping it as is doesn’t mean keeping it as is. Have disc brakes for the rear on the way. Wouldn’t mind relocating the gas tank while I’m at it, which means room for a proper 4 link in the rear...

You want to borrow my Dometic CFX50?

If the house wasn't a few months out, I would be looking for a trail rig. I'm between 4runners and FJ (new body). As much as I miss my truck, I think having the dry space will be nice.

Fuck ya, if you're down with that.

A trip with a fridge will 100% sell Jen on buying one. That'll keep my ass from getting in trouble for (my usual way of doing things) "asking for forgiveness instead of permission"

Perfect. I’ve got those frame plates for @foxrcing07 that need to get out his way too.

I’ll be working from my office in Livermore, the second half of the week. And the 10-12th. Can come out to you guys a little more if needed.

If that doesn’t work for you, want to schedule something for Hector(?) to pick them up?

Getting better. Throat still feels like I was karate chopped at times. Some shoulder pains and back pain here and there. Otherwise, doing good.

Quit touching the pills after day 2. They gave me some killer stuff. As in, 12 hours of messed up from one

After seeing @bot102 and other people use them, a fridge and solar is 100% on my "I will eventually get one of these" list. It may cost a lot, but not having to deal with ice (and the volume it takes up within the cooler) seems well worth it.

    Agreed 100%

And running a trip with Matt's fridge will be the type of game changer I need... to convince the "finance manager" that it is, in fact, a neccesary item :D

It's easier to ask for forgiveness then to beg for permission.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

That's normally my way of doing business. But I may or may not have gotten a fairly stern talking to when I dumped over 2500 bucks on new shocks... and I bought new leafs... and I bought superbumps... and I bought the frame reinforce and box kit.

Shocks that only 2 of the 4 have arrived after 8 weeks  (but you know that story lol)

The try before you buy approach should make it so I can order one with prior approval... which is rare... but much better for the marital bliss thing.

There is a Hugh Jass casino hotel in Mesquite. Last time I went through that way, $29. Definitely worth it. Area is definitely worth exploring too.
