no they didnt even try saving her, which he admitted was a huge mistake. Shes happily employed elsewhere in town at a better company making more money with far more room to grow. Was an upgrade for her, but she has friends at the old place so that always makes it tough. But thats how she gets to know the new drama haha.

Don't do it? If you do... Vacaville Junction (fairfield) or the new houses over by the train station...

Why do you say don't do it? I've been in CA for 14 months and don't know any better.
Ladyfriend works in Fairfield, and I work in Livermore - We currently live in Walnut Creek. Company is opening an office in Sac (Rancho Cordova area). I may or may not go, don't know what I want to do yet - but she wants to move north of the Benicia Bridge.
I wouldn't mind getting out of the bay, having a lower living expense, and being closer to the mountains.

If I go to the new office, furthest west I'd want to go is Vacaville. Next, Davis.

I've got In-N-Out in Vacaville once. That's the only location I know in that area...
    How am I doing?

When we first started looking for places when we moved here (Jan 19) we didn't care for Vacaville or Fairfield. I know we didn't go through a LOT of the towns, but we didn't feel safe in a lot of the areas. I drive through Vacaville daily to get to the base and I don't care for any of it (I don't go through the better neighborhoods for sure). This might not mean much to you, but houses in VV are priced 50-100k more at a minimum than further up north. For instance, I am building a 2400 sq ft home in Woodland, with everything included (purchased solar) we are at 550k. Same new house in VV is 650k or more.

Dixon is a nice small town. Lots of new homes. A bit more expensive, but it is in between Sac and Fairfield. Davis is super expensive. You pay for the luxury of being by the college.

I haven't been through Fairfield or Vacaville enough to know. Fairfield is a no go based on distance alone. I've never even noticed Dixon while driving by, so we haven't considered it yet.
I would do Woodland but not sure she wants that commute.

Who knows what we'll end up doing. Our lease is up in May, sounds like the new office will be open around the end of the year. They'd buy me out of my current lease if we decide to do the move, so I guess it's time to go look at some areas

If you need any help looking around, let me know. Like I said, I was just in your shoes. Kids?

But, Davis is expensive. For rent alone you'll be paying $1k more a month than you will in Dixon or Woodland. Vacaville is +500 over Woodland (depending on location). When we looked it was nearly impossible finding a place that allowed pets too. Woodland to Base for me is 35 minutes. And I only am on actual freeway for 8 miles.

No kids. Just me, a lady friend, and two dogs (which present another challenge since they aren't little guys).

Figuring no matter what, we'll be paying less than Walnut Creek which is good. But I also don't want to be paying Walnut Creek prices, period.

This is still all hypothetical. I guess it's time to at least express some interest in it, at work. I'll shoot you some questions once we find out some answers through work.

I didn't get broken into in California. You are mixing up where I lived. I got broken into in Washington. Thanks for trying.

I think I said I must not have driven around the right parts of Vacaville. But the areas I did weren't that great.

you also recommended the junction which is the least safest area as it borders Fairfield.

Leave the facts of whats safe to people who have lived here their whole life.

Choosing to live in Woodland over Vacaville says enough.

Because I valued my kids education over distance to work? But, whatever. You're right. I haven't been here my whole life. Wasn't bashing any one place. Again, I even stated I haven't been around all of Vacaville to know.

Also when I said it I assumed he was still going to be working south, which is next to the train station. Which is the reason for all the new homes in that area, yes?

That day I dropped the paintball gun off at your crib.... could have sworn I saw a hooker blowing a random dude in an alley down the road.
