Could be worse. Rear diffs are easy to pull. I've got a rotational grinding noise going on in my rig. It drove home fine from Johnson Valley last week. Went out Sunday with my wife up into the White Mountains and it started. By the time I pulled into my driveway it was bad. I'm hoping it's a front wheel bearing but from in the cab is sounds like it might me coming from my crawlbox. :frusty:

Nope, I was going to but I haven’t been working much. I was going to hold off until March or April.

Yup, I need to regear badly anyway.
    Indeed.

Climbing up some asshole Boulder. There was no wheel hop or wheel spin.
Just BANG BANG BANG “Fuck I know that sound”
A video was taken I’ll share when I get it.

The biggest contributor is probably my truck is a giant fat ass.

    4.88’s on 33’s.

    5.29's on 33's.

I was on 5.29 and 295/70/17(33.25") for 6 months before I went up to 35's. I liked the way the truck drove a lot more with 33's. It's not bad in the RPM at highway speed and holy hell it was fast.

Don’t worry. Whatever you pick will be perfect. Just choose highway perfect or off road perfect!

I have a second off-road rig so I skew that direction. Daily driver stays with tall gears for the road.

I'm an auto. At 75 MPH and in OD I was sitting at 2900 RPM's. That's not bad and it didn't affect gas mileage at all. The 5vz-fe doesn't mind high RPM's. Hell, the thing doesn't even make peak HP until 4800 RPM's. lol

I live to far from the wheeling. That’s the problem.

Yeah, they don’t mind the high RPMs. The super charger helps.
The main reason I’m thinking 4.88 is I do a ton of highway miles.

With the SC I bet 4.88's feel just like my non-SC rig felt on 5.29's. You'll be fine with that combo.

when I was building my camper and it had no bed I wanted to try 4.88’s, supercharged on 31 all weathers.

I think it would be super fast zero to like 45mph.

Also posted in the Reno thread (Southwest Region)

Looking for some recommendations for dirt roads NW-ish of Reno. Headed to a hideout in the Portola area this weekend with the wife and black lab. Not familiar with the area. Looking to get out and explore a bit on some scenic fire roads. Expecting some snow on the higher elevations. Stock OR AC with 265/70-17 just looking to cruise around off road nothing serious, historical sites n views always a bonus.
