I'm guessing you told them your truck is lifted.

There's a few different types of shops out there.

    1. "don't know, don't care." You know the place: "any vehicle aligned 49.94!!" Will take your lifted truck, and tweak the alignment until all the numbers are "green" instead of "red" on the alignment machine and call it "perfect." Since they're only shooting for green vs. red, they don't much care if you're lifted, or that "barely in spec" isn't much of an alignment. You leave with a smile, they give you your truck with a smile. But the tires wear out early and the truck doesn't drive as well as it could.

    2. "don't know, do care" Offers a low priced fixed price alignment, but not much experience on lifted trucks. These guys blow out their schedule by trying to align a lifted truck even though the geometry is a little different from stock. So it takes the tech (or more likely, a couple of the techs working together) like four times as long to finally get it about right before they give it back to you - much later than promised. You're pissed because they're late; they're pissed because they lost money on the job.

    These shops quickly turn into:
    3. "do know, do care." Same shop as above, but having been burned a couple times, they now quote a higher number of hours for aligning any non stock spec vehicle. This is, no doubt, the alignment quote you got.

    4. "competently handles lifted/customized vehicles regularly." This is the type of shop you want. They know how to work the machine on lifted and lowered vehicles, and can competently align them in not much more time than stock vehicles. The main challenge here is, a shop that appears to be a "4" can secretly be a "1." And it can even vary within the same shop depending on which tech is actually doing the work. So you pretty much have to find these guys locally through word-of-mouth.

I believe I did advise them that it's lifted. Do you reccomend any locations in the bay area? So far all I got is CaliforniaWheels (rim shop that usually does europeans,lowriders,suv's,etc..) and the los gatos wheel works. I'm going to be doing my brakes this week and would like to get this done right after..

I've heard good words about George at "Swat Customs" in Fremont, but have no personal experience of the place. http://swatcustoms.com/

The tape was hard to get off-I just left it :D

Also, when you are installing them, you might find it difficult to get them to fit properly. A come-along helps a lot.

Finished up CopperT's tail lights. If anyone else wants a tint job lemme know. I don't black out, only tint. Trying to keep it legal.

Haven't really decided yet. I had to change my technique a bit this time since I don't have a paint booth at my house. For the amount of time I put into em, I could ask alot, but I'm not. I've got the technique down now, I can bust em out in a day. PM or text me, I've been asking 75 for BHLM's but those are ALOT of work compared to this.

Not sure why, but they are a little aggressive in south lake.
I'm coming off a very bad effing day at work and a last minute "can you go to the store for me" nagging wife. I was in no mood for someone to get in my way to the store.

I'm on the line and I was the one that was to train them on etiquette while striking. We just ask them if we can inform them why we are here and if they say no, we thank them anyway and ask them if they would consider shopping at (we hand them a list) next time. We even help them with put their groceries in the car for them. Anything beyond that would upset the customer and we don't want them to be our enemy, we want them to be our friend. Because even after this strike, we still will be waiting on them.

Perhaps you should make a trip to South Lake and train them. Had that been the situation, I would have no problem telling them have a nice day and good luck on their cause.
But someone stepping in front of my way, and then me sidestepping and saying back off, shortly followed by the same hippie douchbag sidestepping in front of me....not happening. He got thrown into the Raley's sliding glass door....and then the door opened and plopped on his ass.

That's harassment. He can get into some HUGE trouble for that! I'm sorry this happened to you. These kind of guys are why people get negative ideas about the Union and how they operate. :(
