So does my 1st gen tacoma with 360K on the clock. It cost me $500 and gets damn near the same gas mileage at the $35k 3rd gen. I'll trade you for that YJ. Disclaimer: The 1st gen is beat up but runs great. lol

I’ve got a 70th birthday trip coming up for my dad this summer but after that I’m thinking I want sell the Jeep and get into a first gen with mid travel.

Built just enough to do the rubicon/dusy but also enough to camp out of.

If I recall, your yr has to hack into the master brake wiring harness, dash will light up like a Chrismas tree when disabled.

Don’t get me wrong, I like my 3rd gen, but I doubt it’ll be running as well as my ‘90 does when it’s 30 years old.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Is it bad that I am slightly intrigued by the Ford Lightning? Starting below the price of a decent Tacoma and well below the Tundra.

I like my AWD. I just don't like trying to engage 4WD sometimes...

Finished day 2 of the trip, grab a beer, she's long. Day 1 had music copyright issues during the hyperlapses so I'm working on getting that up today and day 3 will be spider lake back down to loon and I'll try and finish that soon.

Yup, my pre-Tacoma ‘90 has IFS, but it’s the best I can do unless I can convince my uncle to see me his carbureted ‘82 Land Cruiser. I’ve been trying for 15 years...

Don’t I know it. I sold my ‘85 to get into this one.

I’m thinking a 1gen access cab with the 3.4 and manual transmission.

That's perfect. My rig is a 96 access cab, 3.4L and manual. When do you want to drop the heap off?

Plan for the amount of power you want 1st :frusty:

I'm struggling thru motor swap research, I wish I had an old toyota diesel pickup that I could do whatever I wanted motor wise

The 3.4L with a manual has plenty of power. It has so much power it was able to do this to my u-joint on the slip yoke. lol

Thats why tow rig is a must. Has all the power and can do 80 towing. I'd be lucky to do 70 on flat ground in my runner lol
