Thank you a lot gentlemen. The positive words go a long way. I actually tried to jump in my Tacoma and drive it to the ER last night and I haven't been able to drive it for so long that the battery was dead lol. Had to take the "mom mobile". Anyways I thank you again for the kind words and hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.

    Damnit Dean!
I'm camped in feather falls for a few months so if you need help with anything I won't be far. Just has to be late afternoon or evening. I try to pop off the hill at least one night a week.
Hang in there man. Just stay positive and relax as best you can.

Man, that’s hard. Hospitals aren’t much fun. I hope you get a solution soon.

Thank you. Ya not much fun at all and I can imagine this will be an expensive visit. Dr says i have a slipped disc in my back that will most likely require surgery in the future. Hopefully i can treat it with Physical Therapy and other non surgical treatments first. Hopefully I'll be going home today.

Ugh. Be good to yourself and put off the surgery as long as you're able-maybe something better will come in the future.

Ya the thought of surgery scares me. Hear a lot of stories that surgery helped people only short term or that the surgery has caused more pain. Definitely don't want that.

    A few things
I had spinal fusion surgery on L4/L5 and L5/S1 in 2010. It was successful and made me feel 20 again. But now 11 years later above and below the fusion is going bad because it has to compensate.

That’s also true. My thought has always been to allow, as much you’re able, you to let the pain guide you. By doing that, you may get a better or longer lasting solution.

Whatever treatment path you choose be patient and share and celebrate your victories as you recover.

Maybe not all of them. She didn’t say so but I think my mom thought it was a little odd when I told her I could finally wipe my own ass for the 1st time in a long time.

    Well said.

Ya thats what they told me after my CT scans and MRI. The L5/S1 disc has shifted significantly. Scared that the surgery option would be short term however feedback from someone like yourself that has actually went through it is exactly what I need. Thank you for sharing.

Ya I'm hoping that the pain will decrease enough that I can at least be on my feet long enough for physical therapy and other possible treatments if they are productive.

Will definitely share progress. Was able to walk to the bathroom today. Haven't been able to be on my feet for 2 days. Although they have me medicated right now at the hospital so that took some of the pain away but not all. Hoping to be able to go back home tomorrow.

Maybe a stupid question, but have you tried accupuncture? I had a lingering crew injury from high school and one accupuncture session took care of it. 3 years later and I dont have any pain there anymore. Granted I have other back pain now but I was really impressed.

Not a stupid question at all. I haven't yet tried acupuncture, however I'm unsure it would be a fix for my injury. But I'm definitely going to give it a try. I surprisingly hear great results from acupuncture and it will definitely be something I do before even considering surgery. I also am going to see if I can do physical therapy and possibly chiropractic care (but going to be extra cautious before I let someone adjust my back).

I really appreciate you sharing your experience because it's exactly what I need is personal experiences and outcomes. I know its different for everyone however the info helps a bunch. Thank you.

It's worth a shot! At a minimum it should reduce inflamation and ease up tight spots. Let us know how it goes!
