Wow, Talk about timing, I was in Kaibab a month ago, Kaibab was already marked as high fire danger the week before Memorial Day. Funny thing, we got a light dusting of snow on the second night night so fire danger so didn’t really seem that high at the time. There were still patches of char marks on the ground from the last fire that sweep through parts of the park so I’m not surprised if they’re being over cautious to close it.

 

Fixed. Also . My parents live in Tonto. I was going to be visiting Aug/Sep camping all but one day. Sending link to parents. Guess my plans may change
