    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
I can't tell you how many times I've seen that.

There was no way I was spending that money without going 5.29.

So I called ecgs and told them I frequently drive 2-4 hour trips to Tahoe, monterey, Santa Cruz, Lassen, Tuolumne and so on. They said with 35s and 5sp I should not go 529 because of the high rpm. The other thing is I never planned on 37+ tires so there wasn't a need but now my dumbass is looking at sa and 38-40" and I would have saved a lot in the long run doing 529 to start.

After trying 488, with all the gear and armor and 35s I recommend 529. But... in the long run, 4.88 and dual cases will do just fine even with 37s. I'll have 20 forward gears to pull from and it will be fine off road, just slow on Highway. 4.88 has enough to slip the 35s on dry pavement though FYI lol

If I was going as and thinking 37 to 40 I would be short 60 front and corporate 85 rear full Detroit all the way around.

You have me a scratching my head on what a corporate 85 is. I’m guessing a corporate 10.5”? Or 14 bolt? Definitely a stout axle, hangs a little low though…

They made an 85 front with 1.5 inch outer axles and a rear with 1 7/8 axles. Its a stout setup for sure. I have a buddy with them in a 47 gmc on 40s. Triple case and 4speed pto. The axles were only three years of production in the late 60s. They are hell for stout.
Some here may have seen him on fordice or Rubicon. Big Green 47 gmc and a hill billy that makes everything himself.

Those axles came in two and a half ton trucks not pickup trucks. I will find some numbers off them if I can and pass them on.

I see guys on mini truck/trail gear axles and 37-42 pretty often. I'm not heavy footed as you can tell, dual cases, chromo shafts and birfield with HD knuckles front sound like they get the job done. Besides, I currently have better axle clearance than the jku on 42s with a d60 front and 14b rear (doesn't sound right but it's true). He hits things I don't. Also the width, he had a to spend time with some obstacles I didn't touch

    Learn something new everyday.

Seems like a rare one but I’ll have to keep googling it.

    Thanks for the education!

I concur. It’s just too hard to keep the poop out of the ice.

Dude this is hella convenient. I can't count the times I've heard someone call "I need the vomiting bucket!" At camp. Imagine if their stool or ice chest was also their vomiting bucket! So simple!
