will do! I’ve been seeing this all over the 1st Gen sequoia forums and those guys love it. I didn’t upgrade the speakers but I have the upgraded factory speakers and it still sounds great.

so far just messing around with it, it’s a LITTLE slow when sifting through a lot of the menus on the radio itself but I haven’t had any issues with CarPlay with the testing from today.

Take a look at @AccuTune Offroad 's UCA's. I don't have any first hand experience, but they really seem to have done their homework on them and took the best part of the SPC's but made it much more user friendly (I have SPC's FWIW).

Possible there setup correctly. Those coils are designed for v6 added weight or v8 no weight. On 03-09 4runner. My bumper n winch are 250lbs. plus skids.

Anyone have experience with the 3.0 V6 that's in the 1990 Toyota pickup? I'm looking at a dedicated crawler and not sure how reliable those engines are. However, I don't plan to put on too many miles on it yearly, just trails a few times a year. I would have to drive it to the trail though.

Notorious for blowing head gaskets unless you get an aftermarket header. Problem is the original exhaust manifold is too close to the block and deteriorates the gasket over time. Be ready to enjoy the slow life though as they aren't power horses.

I had one in a '93 4Runner. Aside from the one head gasket, never had a problem in almost two hundred thousand miles. Not the fastest in the bunch but if you own a Toyota, speed and performance isn't a priority so you already know that.

As far as the head gasket thing goes, it was replaced with a different gasket made from a different material. I never had a problem after the replacement.

Known as the 3.slow. Like @90yota said notorious for blown head gaskets but can be remedied. With that said I know plenty of people with it in there dedicated crawlers and they do well. Gearing is everything in a crawler though usually that makes them not so street friendly.

I have the 22RE in my ‘90 pickup, it’s been super reliable, although not exactly powerful. I’ve not owned a truck with a 3.0, but I’ve also heard what everyone else has mentioned (not super powerful, head gasket issues).

Well, alignment is back in spec and did some trimming of the front bumper and fender to eliminate rubbing for daily driving. Figure I’ll still need to get a BMC or BMR for trail articulation as there’s minimal space for the tire to tuck into….but at least there’s no rubbing going out of a parking space or driveway :annoyed:

@106 I forgot to mention in my previous post, if you are looking for a dedicated shitbox wheeler don't forget to get AAA or good tow insurance. :poking:

Couldn’t wait any longer to do a shakedown test. Impromptu trip to prairie city yielded great results! Thank goodness I had sliders as the frame twister gave me a good ding!
