Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.
there’s a group buy going on right now for gears and install for 1600 bucks (check the group buy section). Just need to drive down to Riverside. The cost savings might be worth it though as a local shop here quoted double that price for gears and install.

Just checked the few that have posted. I just missed out on one and the 1600 cost one looks like some ppl had some problems with their install, bummer.

I had mine done at Schaffer's in Hayward with an ECGS-built 3rd member and front diff, both locked. No complaints.

Me too. Except they are located in Union City now. Prior to that, Alameda.

Really knowledgeable and great quality of work.

Have ECGS build them and swap them yourself. You will not find a better warranty or customer service in the industry.

Thirded. It's not terribly hard. Time consuming yes, but not that bad.

Didn't think about this option but will look into it. Have done everything so far but didn't want get over my head and screw up a diff with a regear. Install though seems managable.

I recently discovered dirt every day. Which I love, because it’s awesome. Feels like I lost a friend.
    I’m completely gutted.
