Classic. Had a neighbor in college with a late 80s base pickup, basically exactly the same. I got away with just zip tying a rod back into one of those goofy clips.

One of many similarly-lifted trucks spotted in Hawaii last month. I simply do not understand why you would do this to your truck.

Spotted while walking the dog this morning:

And while walking the dog tonight:

And I also spotted this guy today, who made a U-turn with three lanes to work with, and still had to three-point it. I'm presuming that the real reason he needs tow mirrors is for making sure he doesn't hit the curb and implode his tires when parallel parking.

Hawaii has this annual/bi-annual safety check that is more retarded than CA smog checks.

You fail the check if your tires stick out past the Flares. Therefore a lot of HI trucks look like they run skinnies.

Any 1st guys looking for a set of Alcans?

These are heavy duty, +4 inch lift with +700 pounds.

This is how my truck sat (loaded) with them.

    20230819_143729.jpg

They ride nicely and flex really well.

Shot in the dark... Anyone near El Dorado Hills that could look at these and tell me if they are worth driving all the way up there for them? Not really good pics and the price looks too good to be true.

Right on. I'll check with him and see if I can set something up. Will you be in that area during the day? Evening?

(I figured not a lot of people on here are looking for 37s anyway lol)

It would have to be in the morning sometime. I'm trying to get to my parents by lunch time for some pre-thanksgiving food.

Anyone who likes to spend time in the backcountry during ski season should watch Buried on Netflix. It's about the 1982 avalanche that buried Alpine Meadows. 8 people were buried, one was recovered alive after several days. 7 were killed.

I had largely forgotten about it but it was a big snow year that dumped something like 11 feet of snow over a couple of days and no matter how much the avalanche team tried, they could not keep up. Anyone that has been to Alpine knows those faces all face the parking lot.

I remember what the lodge looked like, or didn’t. Big Snow events are still killers. Lost someone I knew to another storm several years later outside Truckee when it dumped 8’.
