I would say from Sac to the Oregon border. I've lived in the bay area and always considered it "Cen" Cal. And i've also lived in Siskiyou county only 45 minutes from the Oregon Border for a good deal of my life. So people from the bay going around and reppin it as Norcal kinda annoy me.

Depends on which gang you talk to, I've heard as far south as Bakersfield or this side of the grapevine. Personal opinion, north side of the Santa Cruz mountains.

I was always under the impression it started from San Jose north. So the bay area and east to the nevada border starts it I guess.

    EDIT-this is from Wikipedia

Northern California, also sometimes referred to as "NorCal" for short, is not a formal geographic designation. California's north-south midway division is around 37° latitude, near the level of San Francisco. Popularly, though, "Northern California" usually refers to the state's northernmost 48 counties. The term is also applied to the area north of the Tehachapi Mountains
