I know the normal sound of the high pressure fuel pump. But when I started my truck this morning in -14 degrees I hear a new noise. The video is up to temp after 5 miles of driving. Oil is clean and free from glitter. Around 3k driving there is a slight rattle I hear also. Very faint from inside the cab. Am I hearing shit of should I start shopping?

Videos are never a great way for us to judge, but it doesn't sound normal. A light tick from injectors is still softer sounding than that. Could be wrong though. Hearing it in person could be totally different. Have you ever sent in Blackstone oil samples? Any knocking while driving? Hard acceleration plug chug? Can you scan for misfires?

Well. I let the truck sit for 15 minute as I went inside to type this out. Went back out and started it again and it's back to normal..... no noise. Currently on a drive and it's acting and sounds perfect normal. It's still below zero so I'm guessing something was a bit frozen up and not happy. Idk what else it could have been. Truck only runs on the weekends. Sits all week

    Lifters doing their job ;)

Could have been a stuck lifter though. Mileage? First thought was a loose plug. If it's rarely driven and cold it's probably just the engine throwing a tantrum, lol. If a lifter is stuck it could be oil not getting where it needs to be, and at those temps, probably likely.

Hey, at least it's not a Triton "diesel". Your basically running dry the first 10 minutes even at operating temp, lol.

-14 I’d be pissed to if you made go for a drive. I’d start it more than once a week in that type of weather.

I 2nd Lifter noise. Being so cold the oil needs to get hot and thinner to properly lube. Shouldn't be any problem.

The op's truck is much louder than these engines i've heard here where i live. At -4 at 11 am this morning even my truck let out a grunt/moan when it turned over, and fired up. I've come to realize after having this truck 2 years that these truck's hate sitting in cold weather.
