Justin, you need to keep track of dib order on your spacers. I could be wrong, but I think it was Kyle, then Daniel and then Alex... not sure about all that, but I think Daniel did post of if Kyle didn't want them he would take them.

kyle has already declined and daniel told me its doubtful so i am just continuing to give heads up. i have no prob honoring dibs at all, just folks are backing out of there dibs when it rolls to them. and it was actually kyle daniel caleb then alex but caleb was thinking it was a lift so now its up to alex unless daniel has changed his mind and hasnt told me yet.

Alright, I've pretty much convinced myself it isn't even worth mounting my CB antenna on the bed of my truck and want to put it on the hood hinge instead. I've been looking at relentless's hood hinge mount and I'm thinking about trying to fashion something similar. What size plate do you think that is and do you think it could be cut with a sawsall. I also have a side grinder that could be used on it also, I'm just not that comfortable with it. I am guessing that is maybe 3/16th or 1/4 and I believe it needs to be steel plate.

i would say that is approaching 3/8 plate, could be off on that but if you look at the size of the bolts holding the hood on and reference that to the plate i would say that about it. although 1/4 would be waaay strong enough and would also make it easier to cut and work with. a sawzall will do the trick bu you better bolt your vise down on this one. also you dont have to cut very close to your lines as you can easily grind either of those size plate to the lines to make it easier cutting them.

or just make me a template and give me a lil bit of time and ill make one for ya.

I think I'll stop by Lowe's and see if I can get a plate while I'm going to get the hamburgers, hotdogs, buns, chips and other stuff for the meet tomorrow. I need to go crank one of those bolts off to see if they will be long enough or if I need new ones.

I might take you up on that offer. We will see what I can do tonight.

Oh yeah, another thing. I might see if someone has or can pickup a L connector for the back of the radio for the antenna cable. Any one pass a good TA or other truck stop this afternoon or on there way here tomorrow?

Exactly! I'm not sure if the hood mount might need one, so grab 2 for me please. I don't think they should cost more than a few bucks each and I'll reimburse when you get here.

I think it's 3/16th. I bet you could use 1/8th and be fine. I used sheet metal for mine and it's not beefcake, but it's strong enough. Different antenna though. The fiberglass antenna may weigh a little more. Trick is cutting it just right so that it doesn't interfere with the wipers. I went through three uh... design modifications... and a lot of expletives and several beers making mine.

Hehe, if you think it won't get stuck in the backyard, you can go to the far end way down by the jeep guys. Since it is a Toyota thou, you can be in front of them... You can always park it on the street. I will have Tanya's car out there.
