Affirmative, mine are rustoleum hammered black, which really turns out to be a dark grey.

I like it a lot, it comes out great and touchups are easy. However, not sure how it would look on a black truck.

The primer I threw on doesn't seem to have done a whole lot, still chips just as easily as far as I can tell. (Which isn't too bad)

A low-gloss sprayon could work. Rustoleum is nice because of how well it adheres to steel and rust, plus keep in mind it will chip, you will want to touch it up, and the chips will get some surface rust you have to go over.

Good thing is that you can paint them, see, and go over it again in another color if you don't like it. Paint is cheap.

So... I just went through this with my sliders and skids. I did roll on rustoleum paint on the skids, and spray on the sliders. I can tell you that painting with a brush and roller takes a lot longer to dry, like 24 hours between coats. However, it's a MUCH thicker coat. I kinda wish that I had painted the sliders with a brush first to get some good thick coating, then done a light sanding and spray as a final.

YMMV, but if I were to re-do my sliders from scratch I would do:
Sand, clean with acetone, paint with a brush and rustoleum clean metal primer, let dry, another coat of primer, dry, light sand with some high grit paper, like 400, just to knock the brush strokes down, then paint with black semi gloss rustoleum, with a brush, let dry, light sand, then spray with semi gloss rustoleum. The semi gloss spray matches the semi gloss in a quart can well enough to not notice.

Grills came in today. Got the centers and triangles cut out on 3, now time to half depth one and clean up the rough cuts. Anyone need some mesh from customcargrills while I'm ordering?

Jeremy, I put the first coat of bondo on the grill this morning. It is looking good. While moving some things around in my garage, I ran across my sample pack from customcargrills. I told you I was going to order the small diamond pattern, but I prefer the hexagon XXL better. I am ordering the hexagon for my grill, but the price is $5 difference if you want it it instead. The small diamond has a smaller pattern, but a thinner size. The Hexagon is a little larger, but thicker wire. Let me know.

Last chance if anyone wants to double up on shipping for mesh.

PM sent. I might not be able to sell it to you if I like it too much! I told Kyle your lucky to get it at the price you did. I'm about to go sand down the second coat of bondo. She is almost done. Just a little light sanding, mesh and the mounting hardware for the mesh.

The other 2 are coming along pretty well also. All the cutting is done, just need to glue in the pieces to fill in the holes and then bondo.
