Chris here is what I got front and rear looks like just the 2+ over load? So ordering that same toyotec AAL you did should be what I need I think.

Yup that's what you want. Are you planning on lifting the front any or are you just getting the AAL for towing purposes?

just discovered something that makes me love my favorite fast food joint even more awesome. for the longest time ive wanted a Cookout t-shirt but never bothered to ask for one, though i heard they were cheap. today i did when i went there my total was $7.71 when it's usually $5.27. cashier told me that if you spend more than $5 on a meal than the shirt's just 2 bucks and some change. I honestly think i might start buying one every time i go just on the principal of the awesomeness.

so anyway, if you've ever seen a someone wearing a Cookout t-shirt, know they're not special and that you can have one and an entire meal in the Carolinas for less than $8; which i thought was pretty damn awesome.

and that's really all i have to say in this post.

I am sure someone has told you this before but be very careful with spacer lifts.

Spacer lifts are a great CHEAP alternative to lifting your truck. The problem with spacers is they add major stress to your suspension components (someone on here has a pic of someone running a spacer lift and on of the front shocks snapped at the mounting point).

I am by no means a expert on suspension or trucks for that matter but I do know what when you put cheap parts on something as important as your suspension it is a bad idea. The truck will also ride very very rough.

see if i can beat him..

plenty of people on this site have posted pictures of spacer lifts resulting in a broken shocks. youre just adding more stress on it as opposed to really enhancing the ride and versatility of your suspension. as you'll see in chris's build (and the one i will one day make lol) he, and many other member opt to spend a little extra dough and go with bilstien 5100 adjustable shocks and aftermarket coils to not only lift the truck a few inches but enhance the ride quality and actually make it more useful in terms of offroading. same thing with an AAL or leaf pack in the rear as opposed to blocks.

as jhodge said, check out the wheelers off road website.

take a breather bud haha. . . you didn't buy something that will by any means destroy your truck. you chose a less expensive method to lift it at the moment. that's all there is to it. more than likely you will never have a problem with your spacer lift in the front. TONS OF PEOPLE HAVE THEM. . . it just wont be as versatile offroad. probably just a little more capable than a stock truck.

now maybe you didn't quite do enough research before you spent a few dollars. no ones going to joke at you about it. and it's not like you have totally screwed yourself. in the future if you want to upgrade your suspension to "better" parts, it won't be a big deal. you'll just have to swap them out, like i said, no biggie. besides, that's what this site and mod days are for.

So correct me if I'm wrong if I go a different route go the bilstein 5100 in the front and rear looks like i can get both for less than $400 that will be all I need? I'll get the good ride and have a brand NEW set of shocks.

Consider it done..I don't want any future problems (I had a dodge I know ALLLL about problems) that's why I switched to this tacoma and love it so far. But I don't want the issues and who knows I may not ever have the issues with the poly spacers but I really don't wanna take the chance and would like to do it right the first time. Lesson learned! Now who wants to buy some poly spacers and some TRD shocks lol

before i post any thing else, just know that i don't have a lift on my truck. i have seen them installed, seen these guys' trucks in action, and have trolled this site for so long i feel confident that im not posting anything that isn't true. and if i do, someone will correct me.

so, yes what you said is true. the thing about the bilstien 5100 shocks is they are adjustable. what that means is there are settings for your coils that go around them. it's less stress on a better shock. you can also use your stock coils with them. they will be more compressed and your truck will be lifted around the amount of the setting you select on the shock.

and also, just know, a shock in the rear lifts nothing. it will improve the ride, but an AAL is what "bends" the springs up more, giving you more lift.
