Exactly what I told Marco when he warned me that my King springs would be blue. Who cares about the color, I am buying them for their performance, not a car show. I do have to say, I run Icons in the front, and I'll be damned if my truct doesn't run smoother than my wifes stock accord:eek: John is right about the road imperfections, but I have road in a truck with the toytec set up you have, and it was night and day compared to my Icons. I also came from 5100s maxed out at 2.5 and the ride quality is what made me want to switch...:rolleyes:I know I got my, non-resi ones for $997 plus shipping. Toytec does a 10% off for military. I couldn't ask for more on or off road from a shock!

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
old man chad has the Kings, IIRC and loves them too. i'd go Kings, then Icon, then Fox. as noted by price...if i had the loot.

I got my Icons for $1100 shipped... But I had DSM and Wheeler's competing for my business when that group buy was going on.

Well I'm gonna give them a call and see what they have to say. Still haven't gotten the green light for them yet and the wife made a comment yesterday that this trip was getting more and more expensive. Either way I have been doing some research on both King and Fox, not as much on Icon but maybe I should look on those a little more. One of the articles that I read last night, and yes I realize that these are not the shocks I will be getting but most parts are universal.

    http://www.offroad-engineering.com/foxvsking.html

I haven't found anything yet that really compares the Icons to them.

Well just got off the phone with DSM and they recommend the Icon for what I am doing. Also recommend that I go with the King springs to compensate for the bumper and winch. Gonna talk to the wife tonight and see what she says.

We are planning on leaving on the evening of May 11th. Should put us in Moab by the 13th some time.

On a side note got home and mentioned that I had talked with DSM and the prices of the Shocks. The wife goes "and you ordered them already". I told her that I was waiting on her approval before I pulled the trigger.

I'll let him know about Coal Creek. IF your gonna be around, come out to http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/so...uisers-spring-meet-greet-21-april-2012-a.html Larry will be there. I know he won't be at the meet on the 28th unless he comes out for a little while since he has to work.

not yet but its coming since I told her I would get he a new lens and Ipad for the business.

My plan is to go either King 700# springs or custom 700# springs when my Icons need rebuilding...but that's still probably about 50k miles away.

May wear out the coilsprings first. We'll see.

Icon's spring is 13 inches, custom designed for their C/Os. Everyone else uses a 14" spring. Putting the King springs on the Icon C/Os may cause coil bind at full stuff. That's the only downside of Icon's "we engineer each shock for that specific vehicle" approach.

I've been looking into custom 700# 13" springs, but they ain't cheap...you're lookin at around $150 to $200 per spring. Been mentally debating whether it's worth it....I have this hangup about doin' stuff right though...
