It's about 4 hours from Charlotte and Raleigh, Google maps doesn't show our "fastest" paths overlapping. It does show a route for both of us through Danville VA and up 29. I'd say the 2 groups should meet in Danville.

I would be ok with that as long as there are a few more guys willing to go that way. If it's just my brother and me then we will probably hit 95.

95 looked like it would be longer.

I actually have just decided that I am going to go buy coil springs for my truck this afternoon. So instead of going to Harrisonburg, VA I will be spending my money on this.... Anybody know of a do-it-yourself shop around Raleigh? Where I could rent a bay with a 4 post lift, maybe have some air tools etc? I don't wanna pay 4WP to touch my truck and screw it up and I as much as I love Super Trucks plus, I can't afford to pay for the install anyways. I can however pay for a six pack or two if anyone's up for it!

Oh and Tim, I want your help too if you can spare some time!

What are you gonna get? We can do it in my garage, don't need airtools. Your truck is a lot cleaner and less rust than mine.

We also have use of the lifts at Steven Toyota during the meet.

It more or less depends on Wheelers getting back with me about the shocks I can run with the 886s... I want to buy the 886s because I feel that they are quality built and will give a nice ride. Plus I ordered a 1/2" lift enhancer and a 1/4" lift enhancer to account for my winch and the driver side lean... That combined with the 886 coils should give me right at 3" of lift.

If Wheelers doesn't get back to me, I spoke with 4WP the other day and they have 3" tacoma coils in stock. So I will just use those lift enhancers with the pro comp coils and a nice riding shock I can find there...

Bottom line, I can't justify $320 or $293 for front shocks from OME... just too much for me. I'd rather risk a bumpy ride.... And personally this truck rides like a Minivan compared to my F150. I'd like a smooth ride, but I don't need a pillowy feel to it, and frankly I just want my lift height back. I'm tired of looking car drivers in the face when I look to the side... and other tacoma owners who are stock - no offense... but I paid for a lift and I want to be lifted.... But my ARB is bringing me back down to stock.

If you get 886 with no weight"arb &winch bumper" it's going to rattle your teeth. Are you getting UCA's because 886's with a spacer will probably give you 3 to 3.5 with no spacer. If you can wait till I put mine on up at my brothers we can soot at the same time. But I have no idea when that will be. I have all my parts sitting in the kitchen and no help either.

He's got ARB + winch. I've got 886 with OME shocks and just the ARB and he's ridden with me.

    Wingman4,
You can get away without UCA's for a little bit but you'll want to get em.

Hmmm that's interesting... I went there once, they were a pretty cool shop. That was a day when I needed a 4wp so I could buy a winch and pull my buddy out of the green swamp.... Instead I drove back into the swamp and went up to the doors in water and hooked him up. I had to pull him out of probably 4' of water. We were trail riding and he just went right into a creek bed lol. My BFG ATs continually impressed me until I got some cooper STTs.

Yeah I figured I was gonna need some UCAs. Will the Light Racing UCAs work? Fat Bobs has them for I think $379 - cheapest I've seen

I looked all over for one in the triangle. There was a multi bay DIY place in Durham.
It went out of business though. You can see it in Google maps. Just takes one lawsuit.

I'd offer but my garage is full right now. Anybody need to buy a washer & dryer? I just have to clear out the junk in there.

I bought a trany jack and air tools to make my clutch swap easier if anyone ever needs to do that job.

& well miss you in Va. Who's going to winch us out of a creek when we do something stupid now?
