says it’s at the grady cole center.

edit: just looking to get 1 room, and crash till morning really. it says it’s going to start 9pm. so probably 9:30 or 10, and wont end till like 1am i guess.we just don’t really want to drive back this far at that hour.

they came here last year, and i know they said it was going to start at 8 and it started at like 9, and we did not get out till 12am. was not bad left with like 1 song left, and got home 30 min later.

Hey North Carolina peeps. I need some info on your state. I may have an opportunity and looking at relocating to the Raleigh area. who can tell me the how much are the state, Property, and Income taxes. also what are (if any) the smoking laws. Will I be able to Mountain bike/Snow board there? and How FN humid and cold does it get. and please no neg comments about California Commie stuff. I love it here and want to make sure what Im contemplating is worth it.
    Thanks in advance

There are some decent hotels on Woodlawn road, right next to I-77, and Billy Graham which takes you to I-85. Not far from downtown.

NC has some pretty good snowboarding in the state. and also some not far in VA. i know, sugar and beach MTN are pretty good for snow boarding. also i think snow shoe is not far.(idk how far it is from Raleigh area, i know it’s like 6h from me. ) and it’s probably the BEST place east of the Mississippi.

Not from Raleigh, but from the mountains of NC. Probably not a fair judge of the flatlands. Not too well versed on taxes and such, I find the less I pay attention to them the happier I am. We have a general rule of no smoking within 50 ft. of a campus building, and downtown is a free for all with plenty of recycle/trash recepticles. We are more towards a liberal viewpoint up here, but not to the extreme of being non conservative- friendly. I'd say Raleigh is a bit more on the conservative side. Snowboarding is good if you love ice. Last few (10-12) seasons have been sporadic as far as snowfall. 50"-80"/year is common. Heat and humidity down there are hard to deal with for me. MB'ing is abundant up here as well as kayaking, climbing, wheeling and outdoor activities. / End my longest rant ever.

Def no smoking indoors in nc. Passed the law a couple years back. What kind of snowboarding so u do. Mountains in nc are small but the Boone area has some good parks to ride but no big mountains. When I wanna cruise I head to winterplace for day trips and snow shoe for weekend trips. It's a kick ass mtn. Hope this helps u out. Have had mild winters here in recent years. This winter it would snow one day and b in the 50/60s the next. It's been crazy. Rode a lot this year but a lot in wv. Taxes suck but aren't too bad. Property taxes have gone up. I get eaten up pretty bad on my taxes.

I grew up in Arizona (12 years) and I've lived in Fayetteville, Boone, and Raleigh in that order for the last 8 years. I definitely prefer Boone and for your activities you would too. I'm in Raleigh for work, the money is down here, but Boone is about 3 hours away.
Climate wise it's drastically different than the west coast. The humidity in the summer can suck, you can't cool off even in the shade, start growing gills now. I'd take 115* near 0 humidity anyday.

Sell your LT and build a rock crawler or DB lift mall crawler.
    That's about all I got.

There are some good ones on Woodlawn as stated, but if it was me I'd come back into Belmont Gaston County. We have a newer Holiday Inn Express that's real nice. I would assume maybe a little cheaper and no Charlotte traffic to wake up to. Right off I85 and Hwy 74.

First off, there's commie's in CA? Only kidding. Our state is a good one. Can't answer a ton about Raleigh, but as far as the state overall, we have a lot of state parks that offer biking, camping, hiking, etc. There's 4 or 5 ski resorts in NC as well. An hour or two to the coast and 3 to 4 to the hills. The summers do suck though. 90 degrees with 80-90% humidity can drain you fast if you work outdoors, which I do. The cold isn't normally too brutal. We might have a month total where we see anything staying below freezing. Charlotte weather and Raleigh weather are pretty similar. Good luck with the move, if it works out.
