I saw a shop with the wall mounted spring compressor that would get the job done but they "didn't feel qualified" to deal with my "custom coilovers" wouldn't even let me pull the shocks in the parking lot and do the work myself. No other place in Greenville or Washington is willing to either do the job or let me do it. The advanced/autozone coil compressors have a very thick lip on the front and it wont fit the coils. These 700# coils are putting too much stress on the top cap to adjust without compressing the coil. Need to adjust for the .75 taco lean drivers side and give myself .5 inches to recover from what I lost putting a plate bumper/winch/skids on the front so 7.5 turns drivers side 2.5 passenger and I'm set. I even got myself a spring compressor on Amazon but it broke the first time I tried to use it (yaaah amazon return policy). I hate to take it to down east offroad in Wilson I'm not a fan.

Doesn't look like you need to compress the coil from what I see online. I'm guessing you have heavy springs or weak arms? Lol do you even lift bro j/k

Because its on the internet means its true right :) Yeah I got the key and instruction book from king when I got the coilovers, but in the real world that doesn't mean jack shit. Had her jacked up full droop, wont budge in fact it started to damage the key designed for adjusting the coilovers. #700 lbs coils are the issue according to the wizards of smart at king.

the 700 lbs coils were ouch before I put 135 lbs of plate bumper 50 of winch weight and 50 of skid plate up front. in fact I needed a kidney belt to drive on rough roads but now that I have all that weight up front the ride is actually fantastic. The problem is the drivers side 3/4 of an inch lower than the passenger side and the rubbing. After the dakars go on which should raise her ass about another inch vs my 1.5 icon aal I want to lvl her out and get my almost 3 inches of lift back up front. At this point I am willing to travel to get it done. Its been frustrating not having the tools to do it myself to be honest.

You need to man up. I can adjust my 700lb coils with the truck jacked up.

I'd guess it's easier with the spanner wrench.

I use the straight end, like what he has. The spanner end won't work with my reservoirs while on the truck.

I use the spanner and my foot if I have too haha. Spanner does make it a little harder if your coil buckets get in the way but a little jack work and you're good to go ;).

Spray it down with wd-40 or similar and adjust with the straight bar on the truck. Done it with my kings a couple times

Still thinking about selling my truck but what would the chances of me finding someone with a 1st Gen double cab (past two trucks have been 4 doors so I'm a little spoiled in that aspect I guess) that would want to trade trucks and they pay the difference in what mine is worth and what their truck is worth. Or is this kinda bad business?

Welp I've got a couple folks interested in my truck..

Question, what should I expect to pay (cash, not financing if I can avoid it) for a 2nd gen less than 50k miles DCSB 6 speed 4wd?

Same issue here with the spanner not working on it. Will give it another shot this weekend with the WD40 spray down first, I was damaging the hole on the top cap and couldn't get it to budge.

This is my wrench, it is double ended. When I say the spanner end won't work, I am referring to the curved end. I use the straight end, like yours (if you have what you pictured)

If you take all the weight off the coils, and still cannot spin the collar without damage, then take the assemblies off and compress the coils as you planned.

Whatever makes it easier. Just don't use a pipe wrench on the collar like a fucking idiot
