    Portsmouth Island is definitely the best free public beach camping on the east coast. I'm afraid it won't remain that way much longer - had to get a sticker when we were there earlier this month. Free this time but I think its an omen of things to come.

    Just me and the missus without another soul in sight.

    Just actually got home from Portsmouth Island NC and it was great, 4 wheel drive beach adventure for sure, if you love camping it's awesome also. Going to be searching for a real nice adventure tent for the truck next time I go down.     I have been reading a ton on here for a while. Pulled the trigger on my 05 DCLB back in late Jan and now it's time for the mods to begin. How often are group get togethers or wheeling days. I've already clocked close to 25k on the ODO since purchasing the truck.

    I'm now in a hotel parking lot dead. I can jump it and drive a short distance... But alternator cooked (stinks) and batteries are too low to start the truck. I have the new alternator. Last time I did it by myself it took 2 hours. Hotel said if I'm quick, like 1 hour I can do it here.

    Anyone nearby with driveway space or that can come give me a hand?
