My $.02 - I’ve worked for a building materials distributor for 18 years and sell a ton of tools. DeWalt, Bosch, Milwaukee, Makita and Skill mainly. Milwaukee makes a hell of a tool and I think their M18 battery system is the best out there right now. BUT as a company they are terrible. Probably the worst vendor I deal with anywhere, and GFL getting anything done under warranty in a timely manor. DMV levels of misery and not giving a shot about customers.

I own Bosch for my of my personal tools and Makita is a close 3rd in my book. DeWalt is fine. Slightly lower quality but priced accordingly and the quality is just fine for home owner use. Hell for an impact your going to use maybe once or twice a month Harbor freight is a good option. The Project Farm YouTube channel does some great 18v tests and is spot on what I see in the field.

in that case the milwaukee 5.0 will do just fine

edit: you wont regret buying milwaukee. only had good experience. worth the extra money for their fuel line as well. better built.

I might be down to do some kind of trade if you’re interested. I wouldn’t mind more headroom. Is the noise or fuel economy really noticeable with the tall cap?

That gun is a friging monster. Id honestly say its overkill for most home jobbers. Breaks the 35mm CV nut loose on these trucks like it isnt even there haha

I wouldve taken you up on that, but yesterday i found one, drove down to rhode island and picked it up. Listed my cap last night for $850 and sold it today. Thanks though! The wind noise wasnt bad but it had a little drag when i was going above 70. Wasnt horrible and didnt bother me much, but ive been looking for this one on and off for two yrs and had to bite the bullet.

Nice looking cap! You literally have to jump on these things the second you see the one you want at a good price. They sell so stinking fast. I was also looking on and off for a year + before I found the right deal

Same but with tonneaus and soft toppers. I was looking for a tonneau a few weeks ago, I found 3-4 and they all sold by the time I messaged the sellers. Then I had a brain wave and started looking for a soft topper, I ended up getting lucky but when I sold my old one (I know...I know....) it sold within half a day.

Try used too. My go to: first time, Harbor Freight. Once and if that breaks, used (depending on the tool). If and when that breaks, now I know enough to decide how much I want to pay.

So far: My TQ wrench is still HF special. Screw gun is Porter Cable, palm sander is Makita. I don't do much for power tools, though.

There’s a lot of Tacoma owners out there looking for stuff that’s for sure. Only so many of them want to sell their accessories, but this stuff is so damn expensive new

I’m in the process of acquiring parts to add a new set of racks to mine, thinking I’m going to go with some sort of track system so I can move crossbars around or remove completely if I need to.

I think @Subway4X4 bought his tracks as spare parts. I forgot from where though. Try searching for that

If not replacing the calipers I would get new pins if you deal with a lot of salt.
