Looks like I missed this boat as they appear to be sold already. Definitely appreciate the heads up! Also I didn't know about this thread and now I do, so thanks!!

They're on the right track. I'm thinking 15" rims since I'll want to air down for beach driving and my brother suggested steelies.

@fatfurious2 David is the man when it comes to this.

Did you have any wants/needs? I recommend a taller version like mine if you're going to use it for camping. I hear the cab high versions are like coffins. Color matched? Window preferences? Windoors are the shit. I still might try to convert mine, or just mount things over them on the outside.

Mine was an older 3rd gen model and white. I refinished it. Black bedliner paint and some elbow grease.

And don't forget, we have Tacoma Express and some of us can move something like this.

Hmm. I didn't know first gens could fit 15s. A quick google showed how wrong I was. There will likely be a ton of options for 15s since Jeeps run them. But, I will have a set similar to this - Same wheels, 16s, some trail rash/plasti dipped black with smoked rubber in the spring, if you're interested for any reason :notsure:

I've done beach driving, not high speed dune running but beach at least, aired down to 15-20 on them no problem. But 16's are an odd size, smaller market compared to 15 and 17.

These deals always come around. You have the advantage, you have wheels and tires now.

Steelies are very cool, and come in 17". I've seen sets go for $75. I'd step it up a notch and get some cheap bling from take-off. Are you a 5 lug or 6 lug though? 15's will be bad ass if you threw some wider tires, and maybe a +1 in diameter, +2 maybe??? Someone who knows your year better than me can help with tire selection. I don't see an advantage to lift for beach driving unless there are dunes or you want to wade in a tad bit.

Listen to your Brother, he knows you better than anyone and sounds like he's guiding you in the right direction.

We're all here to help

Looking to use it as a camper but I'm not concerned about height, I'm also a backpacker so being cramped is normal for me. Not afraid to paint it or swap windows to get windoors.

Check out my build thread for an in cab setup option if you have a full cab and plan to be out solo a lot. But for 100 bucks I'd get that cap regardless.

About 45 minutes north of Boston ma.
If you drive from Baltimore for this it's free to you.
Edit: no clips included to secure it to the rail. You need 4 of them

Yeah I have 29s with 15" rims right now. 6 lugs. Hes telling me I can do 31s all terrain without needing a lift. When I went to the beach with the guys last fall, we definitely had to air down on assateague. Eventually I'd like to do some off roading too. Still a bit nervous about it though...

I'm getting a tire education. Appreciate all the input. :)

But 35k? That’s more than what my 17 with 40k is worth.
