Question. Got the JBA uca. Not the bushing zerks, but the ball joint ones. When getting grease in there do I need to relax that boot to not blow it? With the bushing one I back off the bolt.

What is with people posting useless photos on CL?

Here's a truck for sale (shows a photo of a tree with a Toyota badge on the ground).

The frame photo isn't even where those ones rust. It's the spring shackles areas that are scary on those ones.

 

Hmmmm I'm actually looking for one but I'm looking for a 4cyl 22re and a manual. Early 90s preferably. But nothing to nice...as I want to buggy it out.

hmmm I made a mental note on this. That way when I go look at ones I will know where to look for rust.

 

Oh, that wasn't a dig @ you @ all. That was more a generalized dig at "people on CL". Whenever I'm searching for stuff, I'll find something that's exactly what I want at a great price and the photos will be awful (or non-existent).

The frame comment is based upon my history of looking for my 1st Toyota pickup. So many times I'd read "great frame" and they'd show a picture of the frame right under the rockers and I'd crawl under the back of the truck and the leaf mounts were swiss cheese.

I used to follow the trucks for sale. You'd see the person who was selling the truck list it for say $2,000 and list all the problems (maybe a busted radiator, some rust on a fender, etc) and then the resellers would show up. Suddenly the truck "runs good, clean frame" and the price is $1,500 higher. Typically the trucks were being prepped to be sent to South / Central America and if they could make some $$$ on the side, so be it. I know my truck went somewhere in South America as it's never been registered in the US since I sold it.

Looks good. Bring a magnet for those wheel arches though! Hardly an issue if you're building a buggy.

100K isn't a lot on the 22RE, but the chain guides typically go at 130K and are a pain to fix, which ultimately led to me selling mine.

I still miss it.

 

Nice!! I would like an extended cab too but they don't seem to be as plentiful here. I also am not looking to spend over 2k and prefer something relatively close.
