    In all reality diy'ing a very similar one just takes a little labor and basic hand tools, but is totally doable. Your rack and @ERMB tacoma & LC racks looks very similar to the expensive ones

    A lot of things are cheaper if you DIY them. Your garage doesn’t have a lot of fixed and variable overhead costs.

    Most of my DIY projects end up costing about the same as if I paid someone to do it. But I get to buy new tools with the money I’m supposed to be “saving”. :D

    Totally agree, and that's how I justify new tools too. However, let's keep that knowledge of ancillary costs out of the public domain. Wives don't need to know about the $300 of new tools needed to do a $75 DIY project....

    I like them as well. I have no reason to really ever upgrade them because I have it set up exactly how I want. Plus when I hit them against rocks I don’t cry on the inside.
