Depending on the money and how many days a year you ski I can see this being 100% worth it. This was the plan for Brodie mountain but the developer never did it.

I believe that was the plan for Haystack too, as The Hermitage. It’s my understanding that the cost of running the area quickly makes the whole enterprise unaffordable to all but the wealthiest customer...too bad because the idea is great!

That was exactly what The Hermitage Club was doing. Good luck. If they have that much money to throw away, I'll send them my PayPal address and I'll be sure that it goes to good use.

I was at mount snow in January and met someone who was familiar with the place and sounded like was possibly a member. I think he was saying there was a large fee to join then another yearly fee that makes it unreal for 90% of people.

oh well, it’s not cheap to run a resort at all like you guys have mentioned. It’s sorta like a Ferrari in my mind. I’ll never own one, but I’m happy they exist.

Gotta get you guys to SkiVenture! There is also this ski club in Williamstown, I’ve not been but understand it’s similar to our co-op model.

Would love to check it out J.

I know a family at Mt. Greylock. He is always asking me to come to check it out. Was actually looking at their site this morning.

Jiminy joined the club, today at 4 they close and will re-evaluate on the 22nd, but with the weather and rain, I'm guessing they aren't gonna re-open.

Might run out there in a little bit for the "last day" even though the express is down it says online.

Gore and Whiteface (and probably Bellayre) are all at reduced operations, no gondolas, etc.

All closed now. Whiteface also says no skinning. Based on Facebook, there might be a riot there tomorrow.

Being that its state land, that doesn't seem legit(coming from a high up person at belleayre yrs ago).
I am off from work tomarrow and was happy to see Gore hadn't closed yet. Right at the end of the day today I read they were closing....
Now I dont have to be into work till Saturday at the earliest, possibly later and there is nowhere for me to go ski... Airfare to Salt Lake is $350, and I can go ski Powder Mtn(one of the few places left open in the country, and my favorite mtn ever been to) for free. I just cant convince anybody to join me.

Hate to say it, but I'd bet you get out there and then they close. Gonna have to skin mountains for the rest of the winter I think.

But seriously, I heard the CEO is the "take my ball and leave" type and is too fat to skin up himself. So if he can't, the DOC can't either :brianr:
