We got the tire plugged well enough to get to a service station that was recommended by the park staff (great resources of local knowledge) on Tuesday morning, who was able to take care of us right away, and patched it from the inside which held perfectly for the rest of the trip. This is why I carry a tire plug kit and a sidewall patch kit in with my recovery gear. That was the only casualty of the week, photo dump to follow later today.

Nice! I drove on a plug back to RI and dropped it at a shop to do here last year.

I'll be up there this weekend!

Yo sick. I'm sad I missed the trip. Maybe we can find time for a day trip or something before summer ends.

Got very lucky with that tire for sure. Thankfully the local mechanic at Rangeley did a great job patching it.

Overall it was a fantastic trip. Very fun, very relaxing, very adventurous. Eammon did a great job planning it out, and was a fantastic trip leader. Super good time!!

BadDNA and I stayed at Crescent Lake camp. It was absolutely incredible. Not super far from Eagle Lake. There are probably closer camps to Eagle but maybe not as nice.

We're planning Ross lake (really cool) and round pond (also cool). Ross lake has lake access and you can, in theory, drive down to the water. It's not level but you could in theory set up down there. And there is in theory a fire ring on the beach down there. But that's all theory and I am not telling you to do anything. No sir.

Heckin right I have a trip coming up labor day weekend Friday through Tuesday. Should be fun if you're looking we might have more space.

Check the NMW map on their website. The bridge-outs are on it. There's one up by baker lake that if you come in from the west heading east there's fair warning but if you come heading west it's over a blind hill. You can see the tire drag marks from people locking up their brakes.

Just get some speed. You can make it! :p

That bridge has been in BAD shape for a while. It used to say pass at your own risk. I said no thank you.

I am 99% sure we went over it last year and I bounced off the roof. Without signage at the ends though people keep going down the roads and keeping them in passable shape so you get tricked into thinking it's a clear road
