I wanted to get yours guys opinions. I unwrapped my soft roll-up a few days ago to give the weather stripping some time to kind of bounce back from being all crunched up.

I have a few spots that seem to be stuck and pressed down. Do you think this will affect water/snow from getting inside the cover on the front and back?

I messed around with it but it doesnt seem to raise back up to the 1 inch thickness of the rest. Should I cut it out and add some additional weather stripping?

I would use a hair dryer on it 1st before I done any cutting.

I'm afraid to buy their folding cover now. Probably just leave the bed open until I can get a Extang Trifecta.

I wouldn't completely write it off just yet if you are looking for a budget friendly solution. It was just that spot that didn't push itself back up, the rest of the areas corrected themselves.

I'll try the blowdryer method. Thanks!

I think you should wait until after you put it on and have it closed to make any decisions/modifications. See how it looks when its tightly pulled in all directions.

I would wait a few days and see what it does. Like someone already said, go ahead and install it, it will be an easy fix even when installed if needed.
It looks like a packaging error, so maybe email the company the pics and they may send you a new length of weather strip. If not, that stuff is pretty cheap and I would pull the whole strip off and replace instead of cutting just a section. Good luck.

I appreciate the advice! I went ahead and installed it yesterday and with the help of a friend it was easy to adjust and get it to sit right.

My first thoughts, it looks nice and smooth with no wrinkles. The closing mechanism seems solid and so do the mounting brackets. I can't wait to take pictures in the daylight and show you all.

I would say my only issue with it is that I feel it could be about an inch longer. It seems to sit 1/2"-1" away from the cabin bed rail and about 1/2" away from the tailgate. In the end, the weatherstripping doesn't actually seem to do anything since it doesn't actually sit tight on the rails.

Pictures to come as I installed it in the dark last night.

The snow is definitely a royal pain. Had to shovel about 15 inches of snow and ice out of the bed first lol

I trimmed & used a self stick replacement pad for a 1/4 sheet pad sander. I bought a ten pack off ebay for probably .27.

My North Mountain roll up cover is just shy of a year old. Still pleased with it, and no issues. Definitely would recommend.

Just got around to installing mine this evening. Took a few minutes to figure out how to install as the directions are useless for Tacomas. I may take a couple of pics of how the brackets install into the rails, etc. if anyone is interested.

With help from my son (10), we got it squared up and cinched down without too much difficulty. The cover itself seems of decent quality and like it was made for the truck. The hardware is adequate but doesn’t instill an over-engineered feeling. The included Allen wrench is useless and I thought I had stripped a screw momentarily. I highly recommend using a higher quality Allen key!

It’s late now but we’ll see how it reacts to highway speeds on the way to work tomorrow.

I agree with this, the Allen key that I received wasn't even large enough to tighten the screws down. I used my own Allen, otherwise I would have stripped the screws.

Is yours a long bed or short bed? I feel that mine is just a little too short.

His truck is a 3rd gen so it would be different. His probably fits good from what I have been reading about other 3rd gen Tacoma's.

    Correct, 3rd gen.
Length is spot on with the entire footprint of the weather foam seal sitting on front rail.

Can you take pics of the front of the bed? Was the foam inserts inside of the bed or outside in between the rear window and bed? There is a slight gap and looks like water can get in easy.

I installed my North Mountain cover on my longed yesterday. It took me a little over an hour. I just wanted to make sure it was right. The one thing I didn't like was two of the screw head stripped. I'm talking about the screws that hold the front piece to the sides.I'm going to try and switch them for sone allen key screws.Other than that i got no complaints. It's tight and looks good. I like it better than my trifold cover. i ended up getting it for $172 from Amazon.

I have had this cover for about 8 months through the Pittsburgh winter it held up great especially for the cost, only thing I have to bring up is the tension does lessen over time and one of my mounting brackets was bent so didn't fit flush. other than that great product.
