Pretty sure the stubby antenna won’t work if you plan on using the power plug. If you use the antenna in the kit you will either need to run regular batteries, the rechargeable batteries, or pickup a additional antenna to run it with the power plug.

I'll be there Friday, can look into going early to secure a site since I'll be in the general area the night before.

I should have remembered to tag you! There are 5 or 6 sites at Bearpaw. I know we discussed Boulder lake as a plan B, but I might like to see what else is around the area.

I'll let it slide...but JUST this once.

Agreed on both fronts. We'll show those scouts how to camp.

edit: that sounds wrong. Be assured, I mean that in the most non-arsony way possible.

Speaking of land cruisers, have you had a chance to put it through it’s paces? Cant wait to hear more about that beast!

Not yet! Just got it registered/insured and having baseline maintenance done, but it's in seemingly great condition - plans are in motion.

After the events of the day, we will probably have to drink about it.

For sure! Wherever we end up, I'm thinking we will try to secure at least two sites. As far as I can tell we're going to have five or six vehicles. It would be great to have you along! Do you think you will be meeting us at the park and ride Saturday morning? Or?

@WiscoPat I am planning to leave here about 8am (still got some things in the air, but that is the plan). I've got Avenza with eh MMUU maps but don't see bearpaw lake or it's camprg]round. I do see boulder lake. How shall we arrange our meeting up there? Is there phone signal enough to rely on that up in the north woods? I can PM you my phone # and you can ping me back.

    BearPaw camping is at:
    45.18200, -88.38455

Some of us will have CB Radios and GMRS radios. Perhaps we should choose a channel to monitor.

I'll have a cb radio in my truck, don't have a GMRS radio. I'm damn excited for the camping. Be good to get out an enjoy life away from work.
