Looks like bridgeport OHV park, although they only allow camping on the second saturday of the month. Costiness is $48 per truck ($25/vehicle, $15/vehicle to camp, $8 for Texas OHV decal). Choose a date in the poll that works for you or post another date in the comments.

I'm new to the area too, so I can't suggest a location. I'd be interested in going though.

I'm going to experiment on my next day off with putting my small hiking tent in the bed of the truck for when I'm out hunting and there is no dry/flat ground. This would be a welcome test for the tent, not to mention my first wheeling trip in the Taco.

This trip is not in North Texas but it is going to be fun. I told you about it at the last meet. I am leaving on Friday morning.

I don't know of many places to offroad around here but there is a park in Bridgeport that I have heard good things about. I don't think they offer camping but I am sure there is a nearby campgound.
    **Edit**
It does look like they have camping at the park.

Is Bridgeport Prerunner w/locker friendly? I want to offroad, but I have Highway tread tires :(

I wish I could go but I have a list of things to do to get ready for next weekend. Sadly changing the oil is the only thing getting done to the truck. The rest are honey doos.
Are you heading down for the meet next weekend?

There are some of the trails up there that you could do with a locked 2x. Not the trails i'm gonna hit. I'm gonna hit the ones that give the jeep guys problems. Big rocks, that loves to break parts.

I bet you are gonna have fun next weekend at the beach with the TOR guys. I wish that I could go.

If something does happen around here this Fri/Sat (Bridgeport?) that is Prerunner friendly count me in. I've got a locker and recovery strap, but I doubt mud would be an issue unless we get rain Thursday night.

That San Antonio trip sounds awesome but it's not the weekend I have off. If I were going to drive that far I'd have a hard time deciding between that or going to my lease to hunt & off road, it's about the same distance.

There's a charge for "Daily camping", but at the bottom it says "No overnight camping"

anyone else from DFW want to go to the Padre meet?

We are camping on the beach and it is free. It only cost $10 per truck to get in the park.

I've heard good things about Bridgeport. That's not far from where I'm at in Wichita Falls.

Bridgeport was awesome! I played on the little stuff, then headed to the hard trails. Made up up one on "Hamburger hill" fairly easy. Then on to " no winch hill". I was almost through the tough stuff, when I broke a cv. Luckily someone did have a winch to pull me back down. Locked in 2 couldn't do anything for me. Along with the cv. I also lost; a mud flap, and a skid plate got ripped off. I'll try to get some pics of the trails and carnage up later.

Bridgeport sounds fun..about an hour from central DFW. Anyone have any objections?

edit: seems pricey at $25/day to wheel + $15 to camp = $65 per vehicle for the weekend

    From their website:
    "Bridgeport's Stay and Play Weekends
Second Saturday of every month, beginning October 9, 2010 pay to play on Saturday and for a $15.00 fee per camping vehicle, camp Saturday night and play on Sunday for free!"

Each vehicle would pay $25 for Saturday, ad $15 to camp Saturday night. Sunday wheeling would be free. I'd pay $40 for that.
