I believe you, just makes no sense that he would say that. Maybe the bite is off this year? If you can try to get on a trip down the Indian-Hudson next time you are there. It is just plain awesome.

If you do tube on the Farmington please don't drink too much if at all. I was kayaking there two years ago and was basically hauling drunks out of the river all day. Don't become a statistic, something like 4-5 tubers died there last year in incidents involving too much beer.

No he definitely said the fishing was slow and might not catch anything at all. i didn't want to spend 150 on a rainy day and not catch anything. I am definitely thinking about going rafting out of north creek also, but I wouldn't drink.

He was right, the trout fishing is slow up here until the water warms up a bit. My best clue is the black fly hatch, that's when it really turns on, I've caught a few nice browns so far this year, but really had to work for them. I highly recommend the Hudson river run from the Indian to North Creek, I kayak it a few times a year and it is an awesome wilderness trip. The waters real low right now and they have canceled alot of trips. I'm working in North creek now, next time you're up, give me a holler and we can hook up.

adk do you fly fish? Like I said I want to learn. I like North Creek, we are planning a trip up there once the fishing is good. We have been in the north during the black fly season and it kills my 2 german shepherds and me (since I have to run about 3/4 of a mile to get away from the flies so they can go to the bathroom). So I bet that helps the fishing. I will let you know when we plan on going up though. Both my brother and I are always taking trips, plus we have kayaks which aer awesome for lake fishing.

Yes, I do fly fish, this time of year I'm usually out on my boat on one of the big lakes trolling for landlocked salmon. These fish are great fighters and even better tasting, and easy to catch dragging spoons and flies on or just under the surface. I'm not sure if I'll be at the whitewater derby this year, all of a sudden Ive got a ton of work and haven't had a real paycheck in months, so time for fun stuff is strictly regulated by the budget committee, aka, the wife. I haven't heard of the moose fest yet, I'll have to check it out.
