Yes, but I don't have a dyno chart for 2.0. The last one that was posted was for a version of 1.05 and that was ~50HP/60FT-lbs at the hubs (wheels essentially) when running 93. Nothing officially posted for 91, but I am certain it will be better than 87. Honestly, if you don't want to commit to running 91/92, the 87 tune is leaps and bounds better than stock.

I'm in Eastern, CT so depending where you are coming from, meeting half way wouldn't be bad.

Thank you for that. I mean if I don’t have to run 91 that would be awesome but if there’s definitely a horsepower gain going to 91 I would totally do it. I’ll look into it. I definitely heard that the 2.0 firmware is much better. Then I guess anything is better than stock because my truck has no balls and pushing down on the pedal does absolutely nothing because of the stupid delay lol. I’ll let you know

Hey bud I'm in NW CT and definitely interested in doing the OV Tune without trying to figure it for myself would you recommend the 87 tune or 93 octane tune??

The real question here is: Are you willing to commit to putting 93 octane (91 minimum) in at every fill up? There is a noticeable power difference, but if you don't think you need it you have to decide if the extra fuel cost is worth it to you. As I said above, the 87 tune is far better than stock all by itself.

I am running the 91/93 tune on my truck now, and I am going to be switching back to 87 shortly. I just don't need the extra power for what I do with my truck. Not everyone has the same needs.

Also, I was just in Torrington this morning.

Cool I'm about 20 mins from Torrington but could meet up wherever is central...
Hey from what I can see everyone has been pleased with the tune but are there any complaints
or issues after the fact from doing it?? Any issues getting service at the dealer?? Thanks

Other than wanting to drive your truck more because the shifting isn't stupid no major issues. Overall gas mileage has not reduced, and in some cases people are getting better than they were before. If you find yourself making use of the now useful skinny pedal after flashing you may get lower until you settle down a bit. This tune isn't an extreme performance mod like on other platforms. The largest benefit are the linear throttle response with better power delivery, improved shifting, and removal of artificial torque limits.

Several people in the main OVT thread have reported going to the dealer with the flash installed without issue. The dealer has no way to tell that your truck is flashed.

I only drive the truck in S5 or D with ECT 100% of the time it's not too bad but can be weak and hunt for gears off the line. Instead of wasting money chasing other mods it sounds like this is the best way to go.... Why are you going back to the 87 tune, you don't see the benefit to the 93?? Also how many miles have you put on the truck with it tuned??

My truck has a little over 30,000 miles on it, and all but maybe 5,000 of those are tuned miles. I started "in the beginning" when OV was just getting going. I am going back to 87 mainly because of the cost of fuel. I can't justify the nearly $1 difference per gallon. The added power was nice, I just don't need it. I don't tow, and I don't race the truck. I drive fairly conservatively and for me it wasn't worth the extra cost. No other reason than that.

I was doing some research on the ov tune and 1 guy thought the 1.051 in 87 was better than the 2.0 so he went back to that... Unsure if that's an option the 1.051 or what you recommend either way definitely want to get it done probably next weekend if your available this weekend have too much going on unless Sunday afternoon is an option, also dumb question but doing a CAI or exhaust down the line shouldn't effect anything correct? everyone on here doesn't seem to talk too highly of that stuff just noise makers...thanks for all the feedback this is my first truck and just want to do things right the first time

I think I know who you are referring to, and I believe that was one of the 2.0 betas or test files but I could be wrong. I would not recommend going with anything except 2.0 at this point, especially now that most of the editable files are available. If you are seriously picky, they can be adjusted as needed. Everyone I have tuned so far seems to be happy with them as-is though. CAI or cat-back exhaust shouldn't make a difference.

I agree with everyone with regard to the CAI, it does exactly zero for performance. If you like the sound, go for it. Same with the exhaust.

I am around Sunday afternoon, I could meet you in Enfield?

Just an update for anyone curious on getting the tune done I had it done on 9-27-20 drove my truck all last week and am enjoying the updates to it.

The truck has way more power thru the mid-range holds gear much longer than before, and will tach out when pushed to do so...

IMO - the truck drives the way you'd expect it to from the get go. Quick easy process done by lapoltba, nothing I would've done on my own.

Awesome job man..... Thanks again.....I will keep an eye out for any future OV updates

    Thanks guys!

Still waiting on "performance" tune files to come out. I am going to wait in some reviews before recommending them, but if anyone wants to try them out I am happy to flash them once I have them.

Hi buddy, we are in the same town. Seen your service advert on Craig's as well. I'm near Maple Tire, can you PM me about whenever a local townie could get a flash done? I'm like you and want to stick with 87 octane considering our double gas tax here in CT.

Yeah I went with the 93 octane not sure if it WAS necessary just figured Fk it and try it out for the extra gains also gas is pretty cheap at the moment. So far so good though I'm definitely enjoying the truck more doesn't feel like a Turd Gen lol and the it's cheap to do compare to some BS pedal commander or sprint booster.... pedal has power right at the top...

I've ran 93 in mine stock, even that made a difference lol. I'm looking forward having the tune done.

I heard there’s an 87 basic tune and 87 performance tune, is that 87 performance tune out yet? I definitely want to get my truck done. I keep seeing everyone get it done and love it and my truck is so slow lol

The "performance" tunes are not out yet. There is no ETA either. I can tell you that there won't be much of a gain on 87 Octane, even with the performance tune. The one feature that would be worth holding out for would be map switching so you could have regular octane base for normal day to day, but then switch to the premium file and fill up with 93 if you want to have some fun.

Is the map switching something that you have to do or is it something I can do? I already have the 87 tune.
