Northeast TW Express Thread!

TW express it.....We have a lot of TW Express alumni (proven and Vetted) that live in and around NJ

 

Ok I would totally be down for that!
I have never done it so how does it work? I would definitely pay someone and meet them. Very interested!

 

It's very easy. Put a feeler out on this thread to see if anyone lives in the area of the item, @RobP62 might know more about who is in that area, and once we get a confirmation of a pick up person, message the seller, PayPal the TW express person, have them pick it up, and it gets passed up through the chain depending upon people driving state to state. It may take a little longer than normal shipping but it works 99% of the time (beware of newer members with little post numbers and have never made a TW express trip yet.) Then, it is good practice for the person picking it up to post who they are handing it off to next and tag you in the same post to keep a "tracking" system if you will for the buyer. If it can get to @Cativelense in lower CT (he is a hub) I can grab it from him in Western MA and then pass it along to someone going up North.

I'm way in Northern VT but can meet down 91 or 93/95 into ? Just can't make the whole trip due to taking care of my Mom.

I’m in providence and will some time this summer be making the trek up to NE kingdom to ride.

I’ll be going up to Woodstock area June 4-6, too. I won’t have my bike for that but will have my mounting stuff set up and a soft topper.

 

well lets see if i can get someone to pick the bike up that would be awesome. Im so limited now due to helping my mom but am willing to pay etc. This was my first bike back in late 90s and use to use one like it to commute & stay in shape for Army. I know the bike really well. Hard to find in such great condition.
I'm very familiar with Woodstock area like most of Vt its so small lol.

If we can get it to providence (I’m willing to go west into Warwick etc so whoever doesn’t have to actually go through providence, I’m on the east bay) I can definitely get it up to Woodstock whatever day I said June 4th I think it was. I’ll be going up Friday night but kinda late, we’re meeting up 9AM in Woodstock to go wheeling I wouldn’t want to risk it in the bed for that.

otherwise at some undetermined time this summer I’ll be up north east kingdom to ride I just bought a new bike this year.

This ^^^ is exactly how it works @Simon's Mom and it's a great service from a bunch of selfless people. NJ is a little too far for me to help except to say that @PunjabiTaco is the closest Express Member to the bike, but not very. our best bet looks like if someone not showing on the map I use or someone going through the area on a trip. Bikes are heavy but they are bulky.

I bet Lloyd would be willing to ride the bike up there if there was a free fishing charter involved

This is how I help plan trips for myself and for others. One thing I want to add to what @crashngiggles said is when using the map to plan a route, it's always easier to try to create on on major highways if possible. Oh, on the first page of this thread is the map (if the link I posted doesn't work) and also some of the routes and other pertinent information our members post about their logistics. Welcome to the forum.

Hey Brother, I am not sure. There are definitely discrepancies. I know for a fact that @HolyHandGrenade is on a hiatus, @EatSleepTacos no longer is DC based, and @bski22 lives in the PNW now. I'm not sure about anyone else.

@Nimble9 and @SR-71A have done a great job but things change, people move etc.

I'm constantly pointing people here, and recruiting when possible to help lighten the load on some. I still think this is the next best thing since sliced bread. I've met some great freaking people too helping others, and getting help from others.

Mornin' Zack! Yea, as I posted earlier, I know those three people have definitely changed status. Randy still makes runs when his schedule permits but he's farther south now in southeast Virginia. He can provide his updated details for @Nimble9 if he's still in. I mean I tried to get Rob @bski22 to make a run for us but he said it was a little far for him now
